Re: Announcing Reason 13
The whole point is that if they implement FLAC support, it has to be working on every (currently) supported Windows version. Doing that based on native OS-support is still a no-go, as there are obviously many users not running the latest and greatest Windows version. Check here: https://docs.propel...

Re: Announcing Reason 13
Wasn't it the case that Mp3 support (reading Mp3 files) in Reason was solved by functions of the operating system's media libraries? So if FLAC is supported by Windows and MacOS etc., it could easily be integrated into Reason in the same way.

Does drop the sound from the browser onto Synplant 2 work for you? It seems it's still not supported, yet.

Re: Omega Mastering Clipper is now available
For me its currently the best hard clipper, because of the interface. I just use the drive knob to boost the sound to 0db + remove some peaks.

Really like you Schöneberg mix. The sound starting at 3:33 reminds me abit to "Meet her on the Love Parade".

It's been a while since I produced a trance. It's also become quite short.

Re: New Omega DEQ
Works great. I currently use it too tame harshness in my mix. Don't want to use too much VSTs in Reason. Its a quick and good alternative to other Dynamic EQs.

Missing favicon, when "Dark Milk v2" is active
I'm using the forum with the dark theme "Dark Milk v2". It looks like it doesn't have a favicon, atleast on chrome.
When i switch to the default bright theme, the Reasontalk logo is visible as favicon.

Re: Reason vs. Logic
A Logic feature i've seen in action recently is Varispeed. Something that Logic does really good and many other DAWs doesn't have it. Slow down the whole song with a speed control knob like in a tape machine, so you can record melodies with your midi keyboard, when you're in a genre where the bpm is...

Re: Recycle or DrOctoRex
If you stay in Reason and dont want to use REX files outside of it, then just use mimic in slice mode. It's so much faster.
But if you want to save REX files, you can use the audio clip bounce feature:

Re: MIDI Out from 1 Plugin to another Reason instrument
As far as i know, Midi out from VSTi's is currently not possible. There is currently also no workaround for this. Scaler have "Drag Midi" , which you could use.

Re: Delay compensate midi events, too
It can be complex, but i think its needed. I'm not sure what the current delay compensation do. It seems, it's currently just aligning the audio out signal of each bus in the SSL mixer. My current workaround is now to avoid any delay, so all signal paths stay in sync. The Peak channel routing in my ...

Re: Delay compensate midi events, too
Because i want to sidechain a group channel. The group channel could have a delay, because on one of the instruments, there is a EQ in linear phase mode. The image just shows a simple example. Bus 1 = Group Channel, where other Bus channels are routed and some of them have sample delay. Peak = Sidec...

Re: Delay compensate midi events, too
Btw. i've tested sidechain channels, too. I thought the delay value will then be applied on the sidechain source, too. But it's not, so it's also out of sync. Maybe i miss something, but I think the delay compensation in Reason needs a whole overhaul.

Delay compensate midi events, too
When you are using effects which introduce audio latency, you cant get other audio plugins, (which are triggered via note events) get in sync with them, even when delay compensation is enabled. This can easily be reproduced, when you try to do sidechain via midi triggers with Shaperbox on a audio ch...

Allow more than one cable for a single CV Out
Allow us to use more than one cable for a single CV Out for CV routing. This would remove clutter, routing looks than less complex and would also reduce the usage of cv splitter. Example use case: A global transpose control (CV out) to control several player devices at once (CV in). I currently use ...

Re: how do you check for phase issues?
A spectrum analyzer is my way to go for this. In Renoise, i've used the builtin one, in Reason i use VISION4X lately and i love it. With it you can visually see, where your bass will lost the power. vision4x.png For stereo analyzing, i use MetricAB (aslso use it for AB comparing): metricab.png I'm s...

Tip: Rolling Sampler - Easy Resampling
There is a very simple Resampling plugin. Its recording all the time in the background into the RAM. You can simply select and drag and drop a part of the recording into a sampler or the DAW sequencer. Here is the site of the developer: https://www.birdsthings.com/ rolling-sampler.png Small example ...

Re: SuperBooth 2023 Confession - Reason is for starting an idea
I've no problem that Reason DAW will not be a Video production or Mastering tool. Several other DAW's like Bitwig aren't them, too. Music production should be always the focus (Fast Workflow, Sounds etc.), give me the right tools to get my idea's done fast.
