Hello,
I am selling my Reason 9.5 license for £250 if anyone is interested.
I've switched to Ableton and find myself hardly using Reason, for the most part because of the CPU issues I am experiencing with Reason on my hardware and that hasn't improved in v10.
Thanks
Neil.

Comparing Ableton and Reason running the same VSTs likr Serum and Sylenth1 is like night and day. Reason + Serum = 330% CPU Ableton + Serum = 91% CPU Reason + Sylenth1 = 195^% CPU Ableton + Sylenth1 = 71% CPU Gonna be difficult to run loads of VST tracks me thinks! I'm running Macbook Pro mid-2015 i...

Re: Waves - general opinion
I have always been pretty disapointed. I think they come out with millions of plugins rather than making fewer but higher quality. Just my opinion though. Demo em. Precisely my opinion. They favor quantity over quality (my experience). I used Waves in period from 15 to 5 years ago when they where p...

Re: Waves - general opinion
Quality-wise though, they do what they say they do and they do it well. Just keep those things in mind and you'll be golden. Thanks for that extra insight Mike. I had noticed that the plugins always seem to be on perpetual sale and never at full price. I noticed the update plan which is a bit sneak...

Re: End of summer sale in the Propellerhead shop!
I make electronic music too and don't know why compression, eq, reverb, etc. is thought to be genre-specific. :D I use devices from that mix/master rig in every project! And yeah GQ-7 is awesome. It's not that I think those things are genre specific, it was more than when I read up on each ...

Re: End of summer sale in the Propellerhead shop!
I have not used CQ-7 since VST implementation. Use FabFilter ProQ2 now. If you are just looking for an EQ with a graphic UI Q2 is well worth the price imo. Interesting, I have had the Q2 on demo but I got a bit lost in it, but that will be more down to my novice'ness when it comes to everything EQ ...

Re: End of summer sale in the Propellerhead shop!
Edit: not to discourage you from buying both. Just my two cents and it is still a really good deal. :) Of course, it's good to hear opinion as some of it will undoubtedly resonate with my own. It's a bit like a kid in the candy shop but when I break it all down I'm not so sure about most of what's ...

Re: End of summer sale in the Propellerhead shop!
So tempted by the Synth and Mix rigs considering I was going to purchase Antidote and GQ-7 at pre-sale prices.
Would you give those 2 rigs a thumbs up at that price?

Reason optimisation
Hi, Being new to Reason I need some tips on how best to optimise Reason. I am running on Mid-2015 Macbook Pro with 256GB SSD, 16GB RAM and have an external LaCie USB 3.0 2TB Drive connected also. What can I put where? For example can I store all patches and samples on the LaCie and will that impact ...

I've just purchased Punchbox after demo'ing it for a few days. Great sounds right out of the box which helps when I'm feeling lazy and need inspiration which in itself is worth the £65

Re: Problems with remote mapping on Akai MPK mini
Well, what this guy did is using the generic MIDI controller codec over the special codec for the MPK. This is what you always can do but you may loose features specific to a controller. Normally, you´d prefer using the special codec but maybe the special codec for the MPK is not working anymore (e...

Re: Newbie: Difference between a refill and emulation
Yes exactly, Essentially The refills use recording of the Real instrument via note for note samples. Emu uses digital recreations It really depends on how authentic you want the sound to be! I personally have the refills and used them a lot. But my music uses a lot of non digital instruments so it ...

To add,

I didn't install the Akai software, I just connected the controller to my Mac and Reason recognised it.

Re: Problems with remote mapping on Akai MPK mini
Can you give us some more information: What control surface/codec have you configured for the MPK in Reason? Is the MIDI input port recognized when you tweak some knob? How do you map the Frequency/Resonance? Using Remote Overrides or in a remotemap file? Does it show some activity in the "Edit Rem...

Problems with remote mapping on Akai MPK mini
So, I'm trying to map say Resonance and Frequency switches to Knob 1 and Knob 2 on my Akai MPK mini, the set up box recognises the knobs and pads and I select the related knob accordingly but when I use them nothing happens. I also notice it doesn't auto recognise a knob if I swivel it even the the ...

Newbie: Difference between a refill and emulation
Hi, I am a newbie to Reason, in fact I've not been near music production for about 17 years previously having owned original hardware such as JP8, SH101, Juno 106, TR909 etc (which I sold for peanuts to pay for a divorce before vintage synths become expensive collectibles!). Now getting back into it...

Having now read the VST FAQs on this site. The answer is NO Reason 9.5 does not support VST3.6 so can't use Roland Cloud
