Re: Is there anything superior to the Scream4 Tape in the VST world?
I really like Softube Tape, got it a while back for $50 and it’s been my go to tape plugin. Just got Waves J37 also as a freebie after spending $50 on their site but haven’t had a chance to use it yet. Seems to be pretty popular as well. Airwindows makes some good tape emu’s also, just gotta route t...

Re: Your 5 favorite Reason/Rack Extension synths?
Yes, these don't get enough attention. I have them both but it's been a long time since I used them. Liked the pedals on supernova but the synth itself just put me off buying it. Didn’t like harmonic either. JP effects in the other hand are awesome so I’ve got them all. Yea well, to each his own! :...

Harrison Mixbus 6
Anyone here mixing in Mixbus 6? Thinking of picking up their current offer of Mixbus 6 & 6 plug-ins for $69 but can’t decide if it’s worth learning a new program to mix in. Obviously Reason has its drawbacks when it comes to mixing so it would be nice to find a good and cheap alternative. I’m in the...

Re: making samples sound different?
Transposing, slicing and reprogramming the slices in a different order, reversing the sample or individual slices, time stretching, filtering, glitching, and bit crushing for starters. VST’s like Halftime are a cheap and easy way to make a sample sound different as well.

Re: Announcing Reason 11
I wanted to let a couple of days go by before I came back to post on the subject. From what I see there’s a lot of us here who feel the same way about this “update”. At this point I feel rather indifferent about it. The folks at Reason are going to do what they need to make money, and that’s fine I ...

Re: Announcing Reason 11
You've given up on the DAW side of things, haven't you. and there are more of them than most full version upgrades we've ever done. True. And while curved automation and crossfades are welcome additions, I’m sure a lot of Reason users were hoping for a little more in the way of improvents to the us...

Re: Announcing Reason 11
Welp, that's one way to avoid improvements on the sequencer and audio editing capabilities. Crossfades and note mutes. Come ON. You've given up on the DAW side of things, haven't you. Nice move in regards to extending your customer base, terrible announcement for those who use Reason and Reason alo...

Re: British Equalizer model A by Red Rock Sound
Looks nice ! Will definitely have to try it out. I hope at some point Red Rock puts out a bundle for all their eq’s and compressors. I would really like to have more vintage / character devices in my rack but at $49 a piece I just can justify yet, although Im sure it’s worth the price to those who a...

Re: New Drum machine in the shop
The problem is not if there good or not its that there not really on sale are they ? Forever on sale is not really a sale. Its like a supermarket where a can of beans may be £1 then they put the price up to £1.50 then reduce them to a pound again and say there on sale! Its like the dna labs stuff a...

Re: New Drum machine in the shop
Pretty good drum machine at $9! Lots of features and the sequencer is fun to use. The included samples are good but not very modern, at least for more popular types of music. I’d probably use it a lot more if you could load your own samples in each slot. I think this feature alone would attract a l...

Re: Soooo ... what is there left to complain about (2019) ...
I would like an option to make it so that mixer channels and sequencer names stay the same. I use a lot of NN19s for drum hits and it’s a pain to have to name them in both the rack and sequencer. I’ve been using a template for this reason but I don’t always do everything the same. Also really want t...

Using Reason as Batch Sample Converter
Hey, I’m trying to convert a bunch of 24 bit samples to 16 bit for use with my MPC2500. I drag and dropped a number of samples into Reason’s sequencer and to their own mixer channels. My plan was to just bounce all the mixer channels to a new folder, using the end marker in the sequencer to make sur...

Brass
Just curious about what some of you use for brass instruments. I was recently working on a beat for a client and I had come up with some really nice brass melodies to accompany the hook and parts of the verses. I ended up not being able to use them because I just couldn’t for the life of me find a b...

Re: Listening to drum track while recording guitar
1) If your recording a guitar with a microphone you need to wear headphones because microphones pick up other noises present while recording. 2) If you’re recording an electric guitar with passive pickups, the pickups can also pick up audio so wearing headphones is necessary. 3) If you include more ...
