Re: Scales & Chords help
I use this technique for sending notes to track with Autotheory. http://roboticbean.com/creative/2016/05 ... -reason-9/

Re: Scales & Chords help
If you want the notes strummed, put an arpeggiator player after the scales and chords player. The built in options to adjust between scales isn't ideal, but if you're looking for that much control I would recommend the Autotheory RE https://shop.propellerheads.se/rack-ext ... utotheory/

Re: Ochen K?
I started out with REs by buying a bundle and have bought other REs from devs in the bundle as a result of learning about them through the bundle and also just looking more into what was available out there. Without that first purchase I might not have spent any more money on rack extensions. So whi...

Re: Audio vs. MIDI O_O
It looks like the example that you use "Kawai CA65" has MIDI in/out so you could record the MIDI performance and play it back in Reason devices or in the digital piano and see what gets you a more pleasing result. Depending on what keyboard controller and sustain pedal you use the sustain pedal or k...

Re: Possible issue with sound card?
I have a feeling it has something to do with the circuitry of the interface. One thing you could try is switching the left and right monitor outs and seeing if what's happening is inverted. If it is then it's the interface or cables otherwise it's the monitors. If it's the interface or cables you ca...

Re: It is possible to randomize notes with the dual arpeggio ?
Direct record is for when you want to record the notes from the dual arpeggio to track vs if you want to record the notes that trigger the dual arpeggio to track. If you want to edit the notes before they go to the dual arpeggio then you would do the robotic bean method. If you want to edit the note...

Re: How long did it take you to assemble whatever Recoeding set up you have now?
For me the issue hasn't been the gear. It's been the part about realizing what I'm actually into. I've been wanting to get better at making music of some sort over the past at least 15 years or so. My first music making purchase was Reason 2.5 and a Midiman (now M-Audio) Oxygen 8. I messed around wi...

Re: Are there any clues in the Reason 10 advert?
Emma is buying more cables But Reason 10 has arrived! Seriously, what are they up to? Bobby getting coffee with an image of the rack = more creativity for the rack Emma buying more cables with image of external equipment = more/better connectivity with external equipment. I'm hoping that means bett...

Re: Play guitar as a Bass
You could play your guitar as you would your bass and record that. Use the pitch editing functionality in Reason 9 and above to bring it down an octave then run that through Softube bass amp. It's not going to sound exactly like a bass because regular guitar strings and pickups don't have the same t...

I understand if they were part of the upgrade path to your newest license, but what if they're listed separately with separate upgrade paths?

Selling Reason license maybe?
I've been using Reason since 2.5 and just upgraded to 10. I noticed a second license in my account I'm guessing from when I bought Record which was upgraded to Reason 6. I'm assuming this is a completely separate license I can sell? Has anyone here sold their license before and can give advice on wh...

Re: Using CV "Gate" to play different notes of an instrument
I ran into this issue myself and I ended up using Thor's sequencer for triggering individual notes, MoPol (free rack extension https://shop.propellerheads.se/product/mopol-polyphonic-cv-merger/) for merging the note and gate CVs, and then routing the output from MoPol into the gate and note in of a ...

Re: Pulsar Dual LFO with VST
You have to hook it up to a parameter in the front of the rack. With the CV programmer open in the front you should see a list of CVs from 1 to 8 with an amount and parameter dropdown next to each one. If you click on the parameter dropdown next to CV 1 you can specify which parameter you want your ...

Re: Grain Discussion Thread
I totally get why you would want more CV inputs and an expanded combinator would be awesome especially seeing that VSTs support 8 CV inputs. Having that instant gratification of dedicated inputs make sense also. I don't work for PH so I can't comment on what their development process is like, but I'...

Re: Grain Discussion Thread
As a developer I could understand why you don't want to create a bunch of dedicated CVs for each instrument. Instead of a generic reusable piece of code that only has to be tested once to make sure it works you have to create a bunch of custom code and dedicate time to writing tests and having peopl...

Re: Simple envelope RE - does it exist?
Have you looked at Janitor CV Shaper?
It may be simpler than you're looking for, but I like that it has 2 banks of scale, offset, attack, and decay in a 1U format.
Oh and it's FREE.
