PSP FETpressor is top-notch! Can not recommend it more!

I don’t know if there is possibility for the RE to interface with the regroove mixer but the idea is brilliant. If it is not possible, the workaround would be the developers to create their own banks of grooves inside the player.
It definitely has a lot of potential!

I like Lectric Panda's "Spektrum". From the VSTs there is a nice freeware from Voxengo - "Span"

Native video support, hardware accelerated GUI (preferably resizable), snapshots, option to detach audio files in tracks from the project file.

In my experience Renoise don’t adds weight to Reason projects. In fact it may do the opposite as Reason GUI is heavier and once the midi instruments are setuped in Renoise, I mostly use it’s lighter interface. I guess that the same project done entirely in Reason will eat the same or nearly the same...

I would also do it with a combi. Min/max values will work similarly to scale.

Assign the parameters to the combi knobs first and then automate them (the combi knobs).
