Get the best MacBook you can afford. Bear in mind that even the base MacBook Air outperforms the best Intel PCs. Also all Apple Silicon MacBooks need significantly less RAM to do the same job as their Intel PC counterparts. You might find a MacBook Air with 8GB RAM is perfectly performant. Although ...

The M* Macs are phenomenally economical with their memory usage. And even the original M1 CPUs really fly. You said you don't use too many tracks so you might be OK with just an 8GB MacBook Air. There are rumours of a 15 inch MacBook Air being announced on 5th June.
