Re: Are DAWs outputting a digital signal or analog?

Okay, thats what i was wondering.

Maybe they also have analog outs, thats why they need the converters.

Re: Combinator as instrument

Oh! Thats nice! But still, saving a combi as an instrument would be nice right ? You load it just like other instruments, and then you have sub patches for it...a similar idea...but it would be nice to have a combi instruments tab in the browser, so you could load your favourite instrument and then...

Are DAWs outputting a digital signal or analog?

So the recent soundbar thread got me thinking, that i have a soundbar with digital in. So what if i connect it to my music production machine via toslink ? But what baffled me is when i searched for usb to toslink connector, every one of them had an analog to digital converter. Which got me thinking...

Re: Any experiences with soundbars?

Fuck soundbars. I like the concept of soundbars with sub, instead of sub with speakers. Why? Cabling. In regular 2.1 systems, the amp is built into the subwoofer, so you connect the subwoofer to the mains and then you connect your speakers via separate cables to the subwoofer and then you connect t...

Re: Combinator as instrument

If you save a combinator in it's own directory, together with the related patches, patch loading will behave the same as other devices in reason. When you click on the preset field,a drop-down with available patches will show. If you use subdirectories below that, you'll have sublists with presets....

Combinator as instrument

Ok so as of now combinator saves patches. What i would like to suggest is that the reason browser have a seperate folder as combinator based instruments and fx. Combinator patches should be seperate from combinator instruments. For example i build a hybrid combi instrument using 2 subtractors and a ...

Looper device ?

Any looper device ?
Which lets me drop mainly vocal samples etc, and play them sort of like dr rex ?
Or maybe let let record live vocals/sources in the rack itself and loop them ?

You know play a synth line/sing, record it, loop it...

Re: Reason Studios 13 or 14 (Future Talk)

Ok, so as far as im concerned, my workflow is pretty set. For music production its Ableton+ RRP. It works well, and i don't really need any further improvements i guess. For live sets, i tried Ableton session view, but last time i got feedback that, hey you're just triggering clips...whats the big d...

R12 on wine ?

So i was thinking what would be an ideal setup for live stuff?( Based on reason standalone) I came to a conclusion that i would like an extremely lightweight linux on a fairly powerful laptop which boots up in seconds and loads up reason. And basically there's nothing else on the operating system. I...

Spotted the audio guy!
I have to fight the urge to write β€œShure” instead of β€œsure” almost every day (should be capitalized, btw!!!). ;)
I'll start writing sm58 instead of sure from now on... 'sm58 my dude, go right ahead'

It would suck if they went sub only....i never looked at reason as a moneygrab company, its always been, hey new upgrade has been released, you decide if you need the new stuff or not...but now it feels different.

Re: Offline authorization will be discontinued for R11 and earlier - This is serious

I just did man, im trying to do live stuff, so hopefully the new combi will come in handy. Fingers crossed. Im gonna miss twiddling knobs on my controller though, unless they figure out an easier and more intuitive way of using hardware controllers. Example Ableton macro knobs...works flawlessly. h...

-I don't care about radio buttons and momentary buttons on reason combinators. Re: virtual reason

No haptic feedback under your fingers. Exactly, just use hardware to make music... physical controls, haptic feedback, responsive...nothing beats that...but there's one reason you'd want to use VR...space constraints...but then a daw with proper support for midi controllers can suffice in that case.

Re: Send keyboard notes to all instruments?

Midi cv converter sends all notes to the same output, and has 8 outs too...works well for this purpose. Yep, the LoveOne converter as a poly mode so it is easier to hook up. I almost always hook up separate notes because that gives me the opportunity to put stuff in between on some notes. Definitel...

Re: Send keyboard notes to all instruments?

One was already given: You can also use the free CV Player TAP. Just add as much as you want instruments chained. Tap... Does it work as well as the other one? It feels, to me, like it doesn't. Even i thought so, but what it does is send each note it recieves to a separate output. Midi cv converter...
