Forgive my ignorance, but what exactly does RRP stand for? Reason Rack Plugin?
Recommended Retail Price.

Or Reason Rack Plugin if you are on here. :D

Players - a simple suggestion and a more complicated one

With the latest update I love being able to drag a player into the rack without adding an instrument first. It automatically adds an ID8 device set to piano, which is probably not what you want in most circumstances. A nice little tweak would be for it to add a "player appropriate" instrument. So a ...

Re: Garageband vs Audacity vs FL Studio

Unless you need to put notes on staves then definitely, definitely start with GarageBand. Zero cost, very quick and fun. It's often dismissed as a bit of a toy but it's actually very capable. As hurricane says, Logic would be an obvious upgrade route from there. Reason is great for many things but j...

My verdict is...

Su-fucking-perb!

Midi out in RRP is a killer feature and it's nice to fix those problem VSTs like Cherry Audio and Mastering the Mix.

Thank you.

I've used all the big name scoring software packages and plenty of cheap and free alternatives and, without exception, they all have terrible user interfaces. I have no idea why!

I love it.
I'll love it double when it gets MIDI out.
I'll love it quadruple if they ever make it host VSTs too.

Re: Importing 16 channel Midi to ONE track

Not something I've ever tried in Reason and it's exactly the sort of thing I'd expect Reason to be very poor at given the somewhat less than comprehensive sequencer functionality. You're probably better off using something like Studio One. It allows multiple MIDI tracks to drive one instance of a VS...

Re: Reason and Headphones

I have three different pairs of expensive closed-back headphones Beyerdynamic, Sennheiser and AT, all costing three figures. And I almost always prefer to use my £12 open-back Sonys that came from the supermarket. I even use them for vocal recording much of the time. The bleed I get is minimal and I...

If you don't like the deal, don't hand over the money. You still get to keep and use whatever previous version you paid for.

I don't think it will help with your specific problem but definitely increase your RAM to 32G. It's cheap and easy to do and you will never regret it.

Emagic - makers of Logic. Bought by Apple who promptly dropped support for the Windows version and rebranded Logic as their own. So the DAW did not die, just the company and the Windows side of it. no but it didnt die its stronger than before it just changed from pc to mac , i dont know any of them...

Re: Is Reason dying?

I think it's too early to say whether it is dying. For me it all hinges on the various point releases I'm expecting over the next year or two. I love the VST plugin but I can't deny that the other changes in R11 were somewhat underwhelming and that would point to R11 being rushed to market. So maybe...

Oh but it has. It was bought by Verdane, venture capitalists, in 2017 and it will be bought again by the company they sell it on to.
When? Probably within the next year or so.
Why? Because that's what VC's do.

Try the interface on another computer before you spend cash on a new interface.

Is there any reason you would not buy another UR22? Similar interfaces at similar prices are available from Focusrite and Presonus. Both have good stable drivers and great support.

What`s the best way to protect your songs (copyrighted)? I'm Canadian and i'm looking at copyright.gov right now. In essence: Publish them. Before the Internet, a good approach was to record your music (onto cassette :) ) and then put in sealed registered post and send it to yourself. Of course whe...

Re: Tuned Drums in Reason, and Beyond ?

Put bluntly, no. If I hear something "wrong" in a kick sound I use a different one. Likewise the other drums. I sometimes EQ them and/or distort them but I never tune them.
