Try turning off multi core threading if you haven’t yet. With that checked on my 2018 Mac mini 3.2ghz 6 core w/ 32gb of ram, certain synths with just basic patches will cause crackling in Reason, even with higher buffer settings. In the patch FMing the Dancefloor, how does the synth act like it's playing a step pattern? What is controlling that, is it within the LFO/CURVE1 section? Yeah there's different operators assigned to different curves and LFOs in the mod matrix. Operator slot 1, for example is controlled by Curve 1....

VST3 would be my preference especially since I spent £26 on an effects unit that is only VST3 comapitable
