Re: I bet the firm that bought PH is having buyers remorse like a mf lol

Reason is literally 1 of 60 current firms in their portfolio. I had a look at their realized transactions, and from the handful of blurbs that listed acquisition date and eventual sale date, looks like 3 years is not uncommon at all. I assume this is a fairly long term, 3-5 year sort of deal. To me,...

Re: Captain Chords

Unfortunately R11 and as of yet R12 has not implemented any vst midi offerings, an update to captain has added vst hosting within the bundle so you insert a vst device. Weirdly, it doesn't pick up anything but a couple of my NI vsts. wonder why that is. Are there any other solutions out there that ...

Re: What is the best Reason version ever?

Does Peff's Power Tools exist as a PDF copy somewhere? the original site is long gone, and it looks like copies out in the wild are like 70 bucks?

EDIT: nvm, found a copy for 4 bucks on Amazon!

Re: PG-8X

I've always liked the PG-8X and used it here and there before I moved to Reason. Do you think it is not possible to get those sounds out of Thor for example? I'm currently trying to redo some Synth1 sounds in Reason which is not that easy as Synth1 has some very specific options not directly availa...

Re: CEO's 2021 review

Does the math even work out? From memory, wasn't Reason+ launched back in January? And is it reasonable to assume that a lot of R+ subscribers are on one of the many deals that amounted to ~$100 a year? Yet any perpetual user who upgraded to R12 paid at least ~$120? So, in several months' time, per...

Anyone done a license xfer lately? I am on day 3 of no movement

I've done them with Reason in the past and it was always done in 12-24 hours. Not sure if this is out of the ordinary or not.

Re: What VST3 plugins is everyone itching to use in Reason natively?

Roland Cloud, for me, for sure. Would be nice if they support AU since I use Alyjameslab VSDSX as a drum synth, and he has no desire to port to VST 3. I am currently using this kushview vst wrapper, but it is very awkward to use, so not a great experience.

Re: reason 12 early access

@jamespember: I really hope we will be getting lots of the low hanging fruits implemented in 12.x updates and the shop now that the biggest blockers (HiRes, Combi2) are supposedly out of the way after 12.0 release. Basically all those little remaining things from the Death by a thousand cuts thread...

Re: reason 12 early access

Eusantis wrote a really thoughtful and careful evaluation and expression of his thoughts and he got a one sentence blow off reply. I don't think that was the perfect response. Long time loyal users who have invested a lot of time, energy and money into Reason are expressing concerns. That should be...

People need to remember that forums/message boards are echo chambers. For every person that batch about R+ here, there are probably 10 people using it without a peep.

Wasn't saying he used only that - I meant that I preferred the balanced approach before 1991 happened. Get the balance right - as they said ;) By the way, you mentioned looking for a retrowave soundbank; WBF R2 is the beez kneez. Wood beez being one of the reez for me ever playing keez. If you have...

Re: Do you have any fun or exciting ideas for the new Combinator?

No, no ideas here, not allowed to know about its details yet and not interested in beta testing (bulb smash emoticon). Man, I wish there were more refills, especially for Thor and Europa. I'm slooooowly building up retrowave/synthwave patches, but I would have gladly paid for a bank so I could avoi...

Um Nobody's Diary is of course brim full of analog (on the 45 (rpm) lol) as you can hear. So no he used a healthy combination of everything.

Re: 50th anniversary coming up

Huh, I never would have thought that to be CMI. Vince Clarke fans will fight me because of this, but in some ways, I prefer the period before the Chorus album where he went full on luddite analogue. Basically from the second Yazoo album thru Erasure's Wild!, he embraced the digital technology of the...

Re: U-he - Performance updates

Too bad UHE DIVA and Repro 5 still perform like hot garbage on a mac in Reason. I have to turn off multi core support in Reason prefs and not run multicore in UHE synths for them to not melt down. Been this way for a while now - Reason support points the finger at UHE and UHE points the finger at Re...

Re: Sound Design: Emulating Roland Juno

Here's a rough approximation of the Juno 60/106 signal path with Europa. OSC1 and 2 are phase synced to have them stay in sync in relation to each other, thus emulating the single oscillator of the Juno that outputs all three waveforms (saw, pulse, and sub) OSC1 is used for sawtooth and -1 octave s...

Re: Sound Design: Emulating Roland Juno

How does the other Thor filter compare with the Juno? It always bothered me that I needed to give up an Osc for Noise. Thor needs 4 Osc slots to fully emulate a Juno. I guess you could add noise from a second Thor and run the audio into the audio inputs. Aside from Thor there's also ReDominator whi...
