Re: Background noise on lead vox
you might try placing the mic in the same general spot and recording the playback in the room. this should cancel out the original audio -- it worked fine for me on a past track.... just fyi. You forgot to mention that you need to invert one of the tracks for this to work. Yep, thanks! Was just log...

Re: Using Reason with Hearing Loss
these days i have found that using a Re to keep my eye on the L/R balance is helpful. i check my mixes in mono and with headphones as well. i will also ask a trusted friend or two if they notice anything unusual. :) i have a titanium implant in one ear which, although has helped with dialog, it's de...

Yep, ok on the BIOS and card drivers. Suspecting it's related to one of my screens (HDMI port) as it's listed as a Sound device. Looking into that. OK, let us know if you have any luck! Cheers Success! Whoot! I am so embarrassed to say that, after everything, the solution came down to the missed pr...

Re: Just picked up an RME Babyface Pro - here's a Reason users perspective...
Windows 7 doesn't support USB 3.0 natively, and drivers supplied by 3rd parties have hit/miss reliability - but if you're not using it via that USB 3.0 expansion card and it's still doing it on all of the USB 2.0 ports you've tried, then something's definitely amiss. Last thing I can think of - hav...

@EnochLight and bxbrkrz: Thanks for chipping in. I am up-to-date with the RME UFX+ driver and files. I discovered today I hadn't grabbed the latest Reason update (thanks!). No change on the freezing. Maybe RME will have some suggestions. I'll reach out to them. I'm on an ASUS P8P67 PRO REV 3.1. It d...

Apologies for resurrecting this thread....
For TotalMix users, does Reason freeze during playback when you click anywhere on the TotalMix screen?
I've been dealing with this and hoping there's a fix. Any ideas welcomed.

Imho the Moo is great for gentle vocals compression. My go-to. I have to give him a second chance, [emoji6]so.. Is that modeled to some hardware compressor? for vocals I ever use La2a and Leveler.. Re: Korg Nano series
Ed Bauman (EditEd4TV) wrote code for using the original NanoKONTROL with Reason (he put together a YouTube video overview of it).
If I recall correctly, his code doesn't work with Kontrol 2. I'm curious to know how well Kontrol 2 syncs with Rsn.

Re: (Art pop?) Vocals and synths
Really lovely, Jay. You come across as heartfelt in all the right ways: a great song and arrangement with interesting timbres and a balanced mix. I might suggest that you revisit it with fresh ears after you've been away from it for a bit to see if any lightning bolts strike when it's at arm's lengt...

Please help me approximate this vocal effect
I'm reaching for a lead effect that is not overtly reverb-y but has a pronounced short delay tail; in the ballpark of Low's Kindly Blessed -- https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=P4j4_M_TzK8 I've tried the DDL on its own as well as with reverb (settings below). It's just not happening. Thanks! RV7000 MkII ...

Hi Cool Dee,
You might try sending the parts to a sequencer lane and quantizing the slices. This has worked for me on parts that lag.

Re: Boost send fx level via parallel channel?
Very cool, Stock Music Musician and Giles. :) (And thank you for the ducking patches also, Giles!) I've been automating Scream's Damage amount for vocals and would like to avoid all of the tediousness work of that in the future. A dynamic response makes much more sense and I'm sure will sound better...

Thanks, you guys!
Great creative suggestions.
Automating the feedback knob worked a treat. I can't believe I didn't think of that because I've actually done that in the past. So glad I asked!

Thanks, Giles.
I should've been more clear. I've not had success getting the amount of volume when automating the send level at 127 on the delays.
Unless by feedback you're referring to something different?

Boost send fx level via parallel channel?
Hi, long time! (If it counts, I've been lurking.) I'm wondering about the best way to boost a delay tail that happens only a couple of times in the track. Maxxing the send level doesn't get it where it needs to be as the tail fades out. I'd like to avoid resorting to chopping the audio onto addition...
