Cool tune!  That's a pretty impressive little synth... it has made it on my wish-list!

Has Sean Carter just blown $56 million ?

Sound quality issues aside, I see this as more of a missed opportunity than anything nefarious or ill intentioned. The missed opportunity IMO is for all of these successful and well established artists to use their position to create a platform that clearly benefits up-and-coming artists.  If the f...

At Harms Length (Melancholic Rave)

Damn those are some sick distorted beats.  Great contrast to a lot of the almost "new age" pads and such going on.  My favorite part is around 4 min when the background sounds keep coming in and out.  I can imagine this track could set an epileptic off.

Downtempo Acid Music

Cool style.  I especially liked Redeo with the delayed piano that I think gave a really powerful contrast to the 303 lines.  I also agree with reasonuser27 that this hits on a deeper level than a lot of acid music. If you're interested, I did a track about 6 years ago that also uses a 303 in a non-s...

[Synthpop] One More Day by Pacific Deep

Raymond just got the damn DSI mopho and he's already a master at it!? :D This track encompasses all Synthpop elements of yesteryear and adds a special touch for the modern day. Also, I like your voice with this deeper tone, perhaps this is a lower key for you?, but it works really well with this st...

[Synthpop] One More Day by Pacific Deep

Kicks off with a New Order bang. Goes into a modern 4 on the floor kick. Love that guitar-ish thing that comes in 2x in the verse. Nice sounding double tracked vocals. Awesome panning/swirl fx on the synths in the chorus. I really like that rhythmic bass. The mix sounds perfect on my speakers. Catc...

Like it very much! I think the new gear and approach suit your strengths. Very different vocal on this one, and I'm loving it!  Nice chorus, and great vocal harmonies as well. Very nice! _Dave_ Thanks Dave!  This one is a bit more soulful in the vocals.  I've gotten some nice feedback about it, may...

That sounded really, really good.  I love the bassline.  I've never been able to get quite that funk feel but you hit the nail on the head.  Sounds fantastic.

OK this is not mixed, just still a scratch pad. I'm trying to get used to posting on here, hope this works. This is all Reason with the exception of the vocals which I tuned in Melodyne. I may mix it later but I decided to take the track in a sort of different direction than the original. http://so...

[Synthpop] One More Day by Pacific Deep

It's been a little while but here's a new song from Pacific Deep.  This one grew from a cool 8-bar bass loop that Raymond came up with.  Carl then added a guitar line dripping in delay and reverb and a new song was born.  The track also features Raymond's DSI Mopho.  Hope you like it! http://soundcl...

Remember 'Dave' from Boyinaband?

I'm sorry but this is absolutely rediculous. I don't know what your profession is (other than music) but how many times since High School have you had the need to use quadratic equations or Einstein's theory of relativity ? How many times in the last YEAR have you had to recall your 8th grade Chemi...

It's a really great idea.  I write music with Raymond Hayter and we met on the PUF.  Working with another person is a lot more fun than just writing on your own, I think.

Cheers Ray, well Carl is always does his vocals top notch, no flattering here, coz as I've been telling to Carl he has an amazing voice & ought to be on the big scene, you guys can do that for sure! I bet you Ray, can sometime go to SF & perform with Carl at some club/bar at first, I really mean it...

That one's outrageous.  This one's almost as bad, but only $4000! (cheap!)  At least you can use it as headphones.

"We smell sausage…" Sound On Sound Magazine interview with Mark Mothersbaugh

I TOTALLY relate to his comment about wanting to be 18 again with today's technology. If I even had Garageband in my teens I would have been in absolute freaking heaven. My upright piano and reel to reel could hardly contain my ideas at that time… ;( I don't know about that.  I think we old folks f...

Hey what about the 70s !! lol Sorry for the poor quality - recorded in a 10x12 room into a boom box.  :-) 1978 [soundcloud_track]http://soundcloud.com/tretrelos/glgb[/soundcloud_track] This is a great song!  Even though it wasn't intentional the lo-fi recording really works.  This could have been a...

What did YOU in the past millennium??

I just scrolled down my Soundcloud list and noticed two very old songs I once uploaded just for testing the "new service". I made them in the 90s together with my friends in the " pre plugin era". We had an Atari ST for MIDI, some hardware synths and a - applause! - digital mixer (some Yamaha stuff...

Well the only thing that seems problematic in reference to what I said earlier is the one mention of "music" instead of "content" here, otherwise to me it seems its still talking about exactly this performance you upload. I think you're reading a lot into the word "content", but it's fine we disagr...

More or Less at Peace with Myself

Good for you!  For you the music is the process, not the product.  Making sounds and patterns and feeling them in the moment is powerful and a lot of my music time is spent just doing that.  Getting a beat playing and noodling with a bass synth can easily lead to a happy afternoon. Reason is creativ...
