Please do try and read before you comment... 1 Computer. 5 reformats.........please try and read the discussion before commenting. There can't be 5 different computers with licenses because if you report one as lost, that license is no longer good. Will not be able to re-authorize that computer. Th...

Re: The License Incident....*WARNING* Dont do this...what I did....
I only use my ignition key which came with R5/Record for authorization as I 'lost' my computer once during a beta test, and decided to steer clear from computer authorization since I was told there was a limit to how many times I could be reactivated after a lost computer scenario so I got my warni...

Re: Odd Behavior with Dune 3
For the life of me, though, I can not figure out what MIDI command is telling Dune 3 to change the voice number parameter from 1 to 6. It did that on 2 different patches on different MIDI channels. I use a wide variety of RE VI's in the exact same way I described above dozens of times and this is t...

Re: FM4 Bug - Runtime error
it's weird that I use my computer for the internet and all sorts of other apps and have no issues...and this all started with 10.3. I'm not saying it's not my hardware, but it just seems like it's Reason causing all the issues. Reason has always been good at exposing borderline hardware. Because it...

Re: FM4 Bug - Runtime error
If you're getting graphical glitches, and runtime errors that no one else is experiencing, I'd say that strongly points to a hardware issue on your computer. Likely bad RAM.

Re: reason 10.3 will not render all tracks?
I've seen some odd things with insert effects not rendering on time or at all, when using buses. I've not been able to 100% nail down what's happening, but I did file a cursory bug report. Scuzzy, you have this problem? See: https://forum.reasontalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=7511900 Maybe. It's defin...

Re: A-List drummer wont play / jam
Only Players have that feature, and Players can't produce audio.
But you can use the CV gate outs to trigger CV Player Tap, and with some creative filtering in between you can map each CV trigger to a different note. Then you can copy those notes to tracks.

Re: automating volume on a track
First, don't automate the mixer, either bus it up and automate that, or my approach would be to automate a gain utility instead. Not a bad tip, but you should also explain the reasoning for this recommendation. If you're automating volume for an effect, it's better to not use the main mixer channel...

Re: Audiosuite/Event FX
You bring up good points, but, how do other programs do it? I say just do it how they do it, floating windows for RE's like VST's, side-chain with a drop list of all the tracks in the session so can select one to be the side chain trigger. Floating windows and drop-down lists are fine for other pro...

Re: Soooo ... what is there left to complain about (2019) ...
Best quality eh? Then why does Reason not support 32 bit samples, STILL? I don't know how common 32-bit samples are. Virtually every library I've bought (or worked on) has been 48/24. Sometimes 96/24. Not saying there's no use for them at all. It's just relatively uncommon, in my experience at leas...

Re: Audiosuite/Event FX
It is pretty much the same as Pro Tools Audiosuite but I like how Studio One has implemented it with the ease of dragging and dropping the plugin onto the audio clip as shown in the video. That's completely the opposite of how Reason works though. Reason has 3 compartmentalized interfaces. You have...

Re: per clip automation
is it possible to cut an audio track and assign an effect to just one part of the clip without having to do automation, like in studio one where you cut a clip , hold down alt key and drag an effect? No, Reason has no concept of assigning properties to clips. They are just regions of a track where ...

Re: how do you handle send-fx when bouncing stems (for collab)?
Since sends are usually used as an additional "something" beside the tracks, it does make sense to render them as their own stems. If they are an integral part of the sound design for the track, I'd change them to inserts in that case. But if they are something like reverb, I'd leave them out comple...

Re: Reason 10.3 and ASIO UX2 issues
Thanks a lot. I reinstalled 10.2.2 and it works again, so it is definatley an issue with 10.3 not supporting the Asio ux2. Hopefully it can be resolved or I will have to buy a new audio interface haha I don't know how you kept your UX2 working this long. I have a KB37, basically the same interface ...

Re: CV arithmetic using rack extensions
And now of course I'm wondering if I can get it to overflow if I put a large enough number in the Maths VST ;) CV values are passed using 64-bit floating point. But it may hit a limit around 3.4E+38, if passes through a 32-bit float anywhere. Also the upper limit for the integer range stored withou...

Re: CV arithmetic using rack extensions
Not sure what you expect with your math, because the result is that number above 1.0. What is the maximum it should reach? if it is 1.0 than just round it (cut it with max(1,yourvalue)), if it need to be scaled, scale it down by dividing. I don't think that would work. In my example, I was expectin...

They function just fine. I now have an NVMe for the system drive, and the SAS drives for storage. I do have my swap d...

The more interesting question is if any other player or RE in general allows to "lasso" notes like that? I'm not aware of one. If not, then is it a new RE SDK, which would mean new Reason version? :) I am not sure what the limitations of the "custom display" is, but if you have a custom display and...

Surround sound support. Reason is so close to being able to do this. They have multiple hardware output channels. You can even create buses for each of the additional speaker pairs, and connect their outputs to the hardware interfaces (bypassing the Master bus), so you can monitor playback in surro...
