Re: Do you think the nowday's Reason is too CPU-heavy?

Yes, I think there isn't enough consideration for CPU. 1. Reason 11 is much heavier on CPU compared to Reaper. I do not have any comparison though to other DAWs. 2. Render in Place is excellent in Reason, but it's not a proper track freeze. 3. You can't turn off Rack Extensions so they consume no CP...

Couldn't resist adding this to the discussion :puf_bigsmile: uno62screenshot.jpg https://forum.reasontalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=69&t=7526872 Bah - I’ll raise you one Softube Model 84 which is noticeably better than TAL’s offering. :puf_bigsmile: 6611C606-A385-476F-B74A-85848FE41119.png AD9CF17A-1483-...

Re: Does "X" still mark the spot? New Juno-X

I do understand that it's fashionable to hate the Behringer way Behringer are innovating. They might be copying old products but bringing them to consumers at the great price points is both disruptive and innovating. Remember when the IBM XT and AT personal computer clones started arriving in the l...

Re: Hearing the difference between 41/48/96k. What are peoples thoughts on this?

I think - there's much more variation in the rest of the chain than there is in the source music. (Do you have toroidal transformers in your amp, how much jitter in your digital stream, speaker characteristics, room acoustics,...). - huge variation between listeners. With my tinnitus, and listening ...

Re: So I jumped from Reason to Reaper... for some things

My first attempt at Reaper turned me off straight away - it was very confusing. Then I discovered two amazing Youtube channels: Reaper Mania and The Reaper Blog. Both educational and inspiring. I still find aspects of Reaper overly complicated e.g. I far prefer the Reason Tool Window over the Reaper...

Re: BV-X Multimode Vocoder available in the Shop (and Rewards Store)

Wow! This could be up my alley for my solo project. I currently mainly create robot vocals by using a text-2-speech synth then putting that through BV-12, usually using Parsec as the carrier synth. Works fine but doesn't create vocals anywhere near as good as Kraftwerk! Any vocoder experts have a v...

Re: (retro) Central Obstruction

Hi I really like the sounds used here. They remind me of the electronic music of my youth. I find the melody a little underused and repetitive, preferring the central part which is calm and hovering. The structure of the song is a bit simple and short. This is not a criticism, it's just that I play...

Re: So You Bought Your First Hardware Synth

My suggestion when you buy a new hardware synth, is to fully produce a track exclusively using that one synth. If it's not going to sonically cover all the territory (eg drums), at least give it a try and then fall back to other devices later. It's a fun way to explore and learn your new synth and a...

Re: Dr. Peterson: Meaning in Music

Jordan Peterson is contentious, and very good at arguing a point. Unfortunately with all the videos online about how he 'took down' someone he was debating with, it seems more about "winning" and shutting people down, than exploring a bunch of ideas and celebrating different perspectives on any give...

Re: Dr. Peterson: Meaning in Music

I don't agree that the better the music the harder it is to exhaust it. I've heard things that are amazing absolutely but that don't have repeat playability. And then stupid things that get stuck in your head and played over and over for years. And then very odd things that you can't stop playing v...

What about a "Reason Sound" FX device?  now let's not go giving them any sweet ideas like that No need for a new device since it's already built in :D Maybe it will be something to appeal to the 'new generation of musicians' like a "MIDI Chord Pack" Re , that will make our tracks al...

Haha got me! Very nice track. Only suggestion is I think the open high hat is quite prominent and forward in the mix, overshadowing your nice piano line (to my ears anyway)? Everything else sounds nicely balanced, and a very cool arrangement. Thank you for listening and providing feedback Raymond! I may have go...
