Re: A-List Studio Drummer in the shop

I say again, this thing works great for assembling song ideas especially if no drummer is available...sounds are decent and easily fits into the mix well without a-lot of fuss. My pockets can't afford the price but I would certainly own it if I could afford it. It's not a RE that I would need everyd...

Re: A-List Studio Drummer in the shop

I've tinkered with this for close to an hour now and I like it to a degree, meaning that if I was mainly writing Rock (most styles of) it would be a great starter tool, as it would help with getting a groove going very quickly. It's laid out just like the other A-list RE's so if you've ever tinkered...

Speaking of the Purple One...don't forget that he also used the Simmons Drum System on his 80's stuff as well.

Re: Linn Drums

The Jiggery Pokery "Kings of Kong" (as mentioned earlier) is an absolutely great start. The Linn Drum samples are great...I use it quite often to emulate Prince's Mid-late 80's drum sounds and have NOT been disappointed, it is priced just right, and you get all of the early drum machines!

Re: Iridium Distortion Synth in the shop

Didn't expect much, but fairly easy to dial in some nasty grit (which I love). I don't know or understand all of the fancy scientific stuff like the rest of you who I'm sure will be weighing in, but heck, for nine buck$, it just might get added to my rack. I can't wait to hear what the serious geeks...

Re: Love for Polysix!

I love Poly 6 - I don't use it as often as I would like to...however, when I need that sound that only Poly can give me - wow, does it show up big time! I'm not a programmer (which I always regret not taking the time to delve deeper into sound design) I do tweak and even my limited tweaking abilitie...

Re: EvE MP5=Wow.....

I personally love the MP5 and use it quite often (on everything), but definitely on my Master Bus...I have the set by Waves (Puig) and I really like the MP5 much better. It has caused me to move more and more of my final mixing into Reason!

Re: Cakewalk RE2A on Sale

Up until I got the McDSP's comps, this was my number one go to comp. I highly, highly recommend this to anyone who's been on the fence about getting it. I paid full price and was happy, so at this price it's a no-brainer. You will not (shouldn't) regret buying it!

In my defense...the majority of the ones i bought were on sale at ridiculous prices, so it didn't hurt too much to buy them...there were very few that I paid full-price for.
