Re: R.I.P Vangelis
Deeply sad. Amongst my musical heroes, that made made part of me be a musician, he was always perhaps the the one ending up as the favorite, the most magical. No one played synthesizers sounding so organic. No one was so brilliant while having no musical training. Yet to me, he was one of the musica...

...It really needs to be built into the mouse.... In case this hasnt been mentioned, some of the people in this thread may want to consider trying an ergonomic ball mouse... https://www.logitech.com/en-ca/products/mice/mx-ergo-wireless-trackball-mouse.html?crid=7 That's a nice tip. Something to con...

Re: Mouse-over, knob controllers?
Yah I had a NOB, wasn't that great TBH. Sold it. It really needs to be built into the mouse.... how hard would it be to press a key and now the mouse wheel is able to turn a fn knob rather than scroll. Well, I suppose it's a personal thing. I like it a lot, and I'm not that much fan of using the mo...

Re: Reason SSL Mixer Hardware Controller
So, I quoted all these nob and audient related posts to the other thread.
I think further questions / comments would arguably be best there.

Audient's knob: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YyQnOpUhbKA Besides the nob control I mentioned above I also have an audient, an iD14. For the purpose intended in this thread, the Audient is mostly useless without additional software. When the knob is in iD mode it works as a mouse wheel, which mos...

Re: Piano libraries available
Some time ago I bought this one, wanting an Imperial Bosendorfer, and trusting the stamp of Alan Parsons. I've always been a huge admirer of Alan Parsons, both as producer (Dark Side of the Moon), and as musician (Alan Parsons Project), but unfortunately this refill was a let down to me. I was very...

Hi this is one I did a couple of years ago. If anyone likes it, I'll try and dig out the file and upload the brass. I can't remember how I made it now :) Let me know. Cheers! https://soundcloud.com/darkmode-1/coalescent Wow, the choir entrance is epic. The master is untouchable on his peak days, bu...

Re: Bladerunner Brass Synth
Great to find a Vangelis praising and imitation thread :) Here's my take on it: https://soundcloud.com/pedrocaetanos/memory-of-friends In my opinion it's very "Vangelian", but it's not so "brassy" as that Blade Runner sound. It uses Antidote and original patch by Selig. I tweaked a bit reverb and e...

Re: Bladerunner Brass Synth
Indeed increasing unison voices put's it more up there. Increasing a lot sounds great :) You can also increase the spread a bit for a fatter sound. The actual Vangelis sound isn't THAT fat though :) Yes, often his fatness comes from layering sounds, or from an aural impression coming from all the p...

Re: Bladerunner Brass Synth
This one is thor and rv7000 only in a combinator, check it out. I emulate individual filter and oscillator drift over the whole device, so realistic with one note but still sounds great when played as chords. Maybe not as fat as polysix but it would be easy to stack multiples of these with a mixer ...

Re: Bladerunner Brass Synth
I find PolySix's saw in unison with a bit of spread and lots of RV7000 works pretty well. Edit: Looking at my patch I actually used RV7 :) If you up the numbers of voices you get more of that "brassy" if I interpret that right. https://www.dropbox.com/s/g93x5ihl89nxyy1/Blade%20Runner%20Horns.cmb?dl...
