Re: A more dynamic sound judged by ears

A „brickwall“ isn‘t a special function, it just says that the sound coming out of the limiter will NEVER go above 0dB (or whatever your threshold is). Most „real“ analog limiters can‘t claim that.

Re: A more dynamic sound judged by ears

I have a piece of string - can you tell me how long it is? ;) Yeah, hard to tell without hearing and seeing what you hear and see but I'd go with the two explanations given as the most probable - bass often doesn't "feel spikey" when it it actually pretty dynamic. And yeah, the "spikey" stuff is oft...

Re: pluginplay.co - attempt to unify VST environment

I wanted to comment about this subject, because we are friendly to small developers as well. Meaning that we are API you have an option to have only 1 version of the plugin. Plugin developers can choose either create a separate plugin with our code, or to integrate it on the same plugin that they a...

Yeah, no. Maybe you brush up your African history skills ;) Can't beat The Berlin folks, that is true. They did a great job with the brushing . A perfectly predictable position from someone who would deny the existence of an opposite viewpoint, while sharing to the world their ignorance of their European past History. Also, it seems a new Godwin's Law should replace Adolf with Trump from now on ;) I did not imply the new European Union (in...

Re: Stop the censorship-machinery! Save the Internet!

My position is not compatible with a eurocentric view of the world, with their colonization programs, the way the African continent was divided, etc. I don't think that you have a real position except "Eurocrats are bad". I mean implying that the EU (!) divided the African continent and saying ther...

This is what happen when a system does not trust its citizens. Euro zone is dying in the hands of people none of them citizens voted for. Ironic seeing this from the Bronx. Re: Stop the censorship-machinery! Save the Internet!

Th EU has a good track record of actually improving laws after they have been implemented. IMO it‘s about time the governments of this world get into these topics with actual legislation. Just saying it‘s all bad with no constructive suggestions on how to handle the issues is libertarian drivel.

Re: Far lower CPU usage when LuSH-101's "multi core" mode is OFF...why?

So to speak, running informations from cpu to external Dsp cores and back would further that time delay, and multiple dsp cards would performs worse than a single cpu thread? But are not dps's core designed to ''bridge'' data with each others, is that not the initial purpose to have multiple dsp's ...

Re: VST running external DSP's. Reason Dsp interface?

The Apollo is not ''Ragnarok'' proof. It has awesome reverbs plugins. I like the smaller siblings, a lot, it fits in my bag. Better than the new MOTU anyway. It is a good system for Pro Tools users, but I also understand there is also some difference in which plug'in with pre-post audio computing d...

Re: VST running external DSP's. Reason Dsp interface?

Nah, DSPs for ITB mixing doesn‘t make much sense. You either stay in the DSPs or you do stuff in the computers CPU. Routing stuff back- and forth during mixing doesn‘t make sense except as a copy protection for the plugins that run on the DSP hardware. ProTools and the Uaudio Apollo use DSPs to comp...

Re: Threshold activated recording

Yeah exactly, thats basically what I mean but you're missing the virtual MIDI port in the system to get that signal back to the record button. I think there is no other way to press those except from an external MIDI controller.

Yeah, I suppose. But I wonder how many users are using Siri regularly? Re: Threshold activated recording

You could use a virtual MIDI connection to send a CV signal from a compressor type plugin through an EMI out via MIDI and then send that MIDI signal back in via a Generic MIDI device and assign that signal to the record button. But whats the actual thing you want to do? I mean you have to turn it of...

Just to give a bone to the "I create my own universe" people in this discussion... Mathematically speaking making a universe costs nothing.
