Re: Turn Reason into an Arranger Keyboard
This is so good. Smooth cheese. It's like being on really strong acid in an upscale Chinese restaurant, and I mean that in the nicest way This is kinda like the guy who told me that the a track i made sounded like elevator music and that he wouldn't want to leave the elevator if hearing it :) Music...

Re: Turn Reason into an Arranger Keyboard
Here is another take on an Arranger setup which is great for getting ideas for Retro Wave music. This time its made in Reason 10 and uses my XSynth OSC Refill + Korde. It was made in 1 day so i might regret it when i hear it tomorrow  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jO-7LGknhfA Link to Combinat...

Re: Turn Reason into an Arranger Keyboard
Nice work Xsynth! I still find uses for your old refill. It's always great to see ya back here in the forums, your work is superb! I would download this for sure, but I don't have Algoritm. Well i could try cook something similar using Reason 10 and my old XSynth OSC Library but Korde will be a mus...

Turn Reason into an Arranger Keyboard
Damn its Hell to create an audio and visual presentation of something you play live in a DAW these days because no screen capture software supports ASIO. I know there are some stupidly hard work arounds, i've tried that before and it messed up my setup so hard that i'll never touch it again. This le...

Re: VST vs RE timing
Both the Redrum and korde with the Zebra VST is inside a Combinator. I'm using no weirdo routings or anything.

VST vs RE timing
By accident i noticed REDRUM kicks lag behind a VST triggered by Korde. Ex. I run a clicky kick in REDRUM 4 on 4 Then i use Korde to trigger a 4 on 4 clicky sound in Zebra VST. For some odd reason the Clicky sound from Zebra is wayyy ahead of the clicky sound from REDRUM. Ahha i thought this must ju...

Re: Cheap, but good, LFO RE
Little LFO is free and got 4 LFO's you can use, Pulsar got 2. For LFO job that needs to go SUPER slow i suggest LPCV which also is free.

Yay....... love S L O W LFO's, thx for this free LPCV gift Usually reason devices only goes down to tempo synced 32/4, this one can go wayyyyyyy way slower, perfect for ambient stuff and slow sweeps. If you somehow missed this one go get it

Re: new Reason Studios Player: Pattern Mutator
The PATTERN MUTATOR really could benefit from having (Lowest-Highest-First-Last) Note Selection just like on Korde. Lets say i create a Combinator with a pad sound and an added bass pattern from mutator. The bass gets its pattern from PATTERN MUTATOR and the pad just play the full chord. If i play a...

Re: Turn Reason into an Arranger Keyboard
Just a side note: If you don´t want to be limited to one combinator you can also use the simple and fantastic and free https://www.reasonstudios.com/shop/rack-extension/cv-player-tap/ to route your MIDI notes to other combinators or even to player chains. It requires some CV cabling but when setup ...

Re: Simple devices for onekey>chord\drone making (without appeal to sequencer) ?
Dunno if its relevant here but connecting RPG-8 to a instrument and keeping ON switch OFF but HOLD switch ON will make it latch notes. It will re-latch news notes if new notes are played and it will stop latch if transport STOP button is pressed.

Re: Turn Reason into an Arranger Keyboard
What is an “arranger keyboard” exactly? In short its a one man band in a keyboard and is often seen being played at weddings, birthdays and other sorts of public performance. Try watch a video of Yamaha Genos. 90% of what comes out of an arranger keyboard is not the kind of music i like to make, ho...

Re: Turn Reason into an Arranger Keyboard
Ok now i know whats happening, Kompulsion DO let some notes past its MIDI filtering and that was what i heard. Why this happens to me and not to you guys is that i play LIVE, playing LIVE means anything i play is not quantized. If i record my LIVE performance and then play it back quantized THEN the...

Re: Turn Reason into an Arranger Keyboard
THIS is the problem, i ONLY want to hear the arp'ed notes and Kompulsion as a PLAYER do not allow for that. The moment i turn off recieve notes for the NN-XT then the Kompulsion stops recieving notes because they are tied together. XSynth, I don't understand what your problem is. As soon as you put...

Re: Turn Reason into an Arranger Keyboard
Ok, just had a quick try using Kompulsion, the main problem here is that its only the Sequencer part that works inside a Combinator. The arpeggio part is not responding to incoming notes if Kompulsion is inside a Combinator. So on first hand i'll stick to Korde which is not a PLAYER but an Instrume...

Welcome back Michael! We've missed you here in Reason land. It's good to be back :) Had i not been buried in my hardware i would have been back sooner but i guess better late than never ;) Long breaks have the positive effect that you look different at the tools you got, like resetting your workflo...

Re: Turn Reason into an Arranger Keyboard
Wouldn't Kompulsion be an even better fit for that? https://www.reasonstudios.com/shop/rack-extension/kompulsion/ Dunno, i just got it a few days ago but have not tried using it for this arranger setup. The reason why i'm focused on Korde right now is that it got external modulation connections whe...

Re: Turn Reason into an Arranger Keyboard
I have found a way to make the Bass pattern respond more varied to incoming chords. Normally the bass pattern would just continue with same note pattern as you move up the keyboard. My solution to this (problem) was to have one bass play C1-B1 and another bass playing C2-B2, however this second bass...

Re: Turn Reason into an Arranger Keyboard
This is beyond cool :) The reason why i have been away from this community is because i had found a way to do a semi arranger setup using hardware and had no use for a computer. Been toying with that concept for 3-4 years until i recently picked up Reason again and tried to see if i could come up wi...

Turn Reason into an Arranger Keyboard
I love the concept of arranger keyboards but i hate the sounds and its static performance. What if arranger keyboaards had full fledged synthesizers with tons of modulation features. Well i highly doubt that is going to happen within the next 50 years. Lots of people use Ableton LIVE and various seq...

Key hold or Latch is it possible ?
I've been wanting a KEY HOLD or LATCH in Reason for years, you play a chord lift your hand and the chord is held.
Is this feature possible within Reason now or should i wait and come back in a few years to ask again
You can make an ARP held but keys nope

Re: Grain vs Proton
Well its hard trying to describe the difference since there is no word for it and to me the best way of describing it is the term mono vs poly.
Lets just say I prefer PROTON over GRAIN in the way grains are handled.
