Re: 80's pattern sequencing
Whilst not perfect, this can be done with AutoArp. To obtain the octave bass explained in the video, try adjusting the following settings: Press "Hold" Button Set the "First Input Quantising" to 1/4 (this shows as "VALUE" on the user interface, and has a default value of "OFF") Turn chord generation...

Re: Maybe this is a dumb idea...
Imagine combining some of the ideas of the posts above. Rather than allowing SDK access to create sequencer functionality (although I'm sure it could be very cool), imagine allowing a new class of combining devices as Rack Extensions - people could write new and differently functioning combinators. ...

Re: How to restrict Matrix' randomise pattern to specified octave(s)
You can use a CV utility like Lectric Panda's Janitor to restrict the overall range by scaling, then change the offset to pull this into a a different octave. This obviously changes the notes after the output, so means you can no longer use the display in the matrix to determine the actual notes. Yo...

Spot on! But remember, there would be a bunch of people not taking part in this poll who play a major part in the props plans - potential new buyers of the application. This version is 100% geared to them. [/quote] The first rule of business is to look after the customers you have as a priority. Ge...

Re: Reason 10 announced!
For people saying synths are needed and more needed than workflow enhancements. 2 things:- 1) Why not just give us a couple of synths, say Europa and Grain (and maybe throw in Synhcronous too) and then give us other workflow stuff too? not to address one or the other is not covering all bases and s...

Re: Where Is Reason Headed?
I fancy that Propellerhead start compiling instrument and effect REs to VSTs, then start selling them via their shop. If they could have a write once, export/compile to multiple formats SDK, it would significantly increase the market size for REs (sold as VSTs) and might make the format more attract...

Re: General Question on Using Reason
For the rack size issue, many people buy a second monitor of reasonable size and run it vertically at a lower resolution. This can then be used with a separate window containing only the rack. Advantage is using the lower resolution you can have the rack appear larger all the time, leaving a primary...

Re: What is the main new feature that make you upgrade to V9
I'll upgrade for the pitch correction feature, but I'm also hoping that the SDK will be opened up to allow other "player" devices. Then 3rd party developers can create some badass sequencer type REs which allow immediate writing to tracks in the sequencer.

Re: RE Synths that can't be replicated with Reason stock synths
Here's my take on this: It depends on how you use synths in your music. If a synthesizer is just one of a number of instruments in a mix within the music you write, then perhaps you are less worried about exactly how that synth sounds. In most cases it's being buried in a bunch of other sounds. On t...

Re: what if reason removed the authoriser ?
What if the authoriser were not removed completely, but only required for using REs? In fact to help create a bigger user base of the main product, you could also reduce it's cost from €369.00 to something more like €39 euros. How many of the people who pirated Reason would pay a smaller sum to get ...

Re: Poly CV - what happened?
My take on this: The system as it stands is a hack, and a very clever hack. However, in my opinion, this is a part of reason on which we certainly shouldn't be relying on hacks. CV between devices is one of the main differentiators between Reason and other DAWs and one of the primary reason's I cont...

Re: Layering Claps.
I like this thread a lot. It'd be awesome if the OP could put a simple audio example together. I'd want to hear 4 files, each individual layer and then the mixed result after layering and compression/glue. This is something I've tried to do often, but rarely come up with something I liked. I wonderi...

One other thing I've just started noticing is that my mouse is getting a little "sticky" at times. I think I've seen this before when I have Reason set to use 100% CPU in the audio preferences. Hey Guys and Girls, The recent bundle sales have likely led to many people paying a second time for RE licenses they already own. I understand that these licenses are non-transferrable, and this makes sense to me from the point of view of resale, but I wonder why gifting of licenses bought in this w...

The Most Stupid Features and Mistakes in Reason ?!?!
Hey Guys, my input on this thread:- In my opinion Propellerheads made a mistake when they decided to compartmentalise editing of midi notes and also audio clips to single tracks at a time. I often find myself wanting to compare the midi notes of another track during an edit. I also find I often wan...
