To me, I think the "better" is all up to your ears. Personally, I never really liked BattleAx. No matter how I dialed it in, it absolutely destroyed my initial sound too much; it's like almost every "type" sounded more like a bitcrusher than a clean distortion. Haven't tried the Mcdsp but the MP5 I use on vocals to make them crisp and I use it on low end bass and kick...pultec style all the way for me!:-)

Good afternoon everyone! I was curious about the McDSP EQ's and had a few questions for you all.

1) Who is using them? 
2) Why these over Lab-ONE, Kuassa, Softube, Synapse, etc?
3) How exactly are these different from any other EQ on the market?
4) How are you using them in your tracks and on what?

On a side note, how much DSP usage does the McDSP stuff take? I know that people have complained about other company's compressors and EQs (U-He, Lab-One, etc) making a hit on their system performance, I was curious if the McDSP REs were the "solution" or if they only add to the CPU all-you-can-eat ...

Honestly, Mr. OverDrive is totally worth the price of admission. I don't use the overdrive portion of that RE much, but the stereo spread on that RE is amazing.
