Re: Robotic Bean - Portatron Tape Synthesizer (VST3)

I would love to see on-board recording and more on-board audio editing capabilities. Agreed! And I am tagging ... so hopefully he'll see this. Please also add seperate audio-out for each of the tracks on Portatron - would be of great help in Reason (and any DAW for that matter)! And please make eac...

Re: Robotic Bean - Portatron Tape Synthesizer (VST3)

I really hope there's a Black Friday sale on Portatron. Can't believe I missed it at $29 earlier this year. It's one of those instruments that you don't think you need, then you try the demo because fuck it why not, then you can't live without it. So good I ended up grabbing it last Black Friday/Ch...

Re: Ekssperimental Sounds multi-FX bundle

I was able to finally pick up Ouroboros. I trialed it a long time ago and really liked it. It's been 50% off before but other REs got in the way. I was going to buy it during the last sale, but MrFigg convinced me how great Anoma was, claiming Anoma to be superior to Ourobors. Being a gullible fool,...

Re: Now's my chance on Noise Engineering!

Their naming and GUI has really turned me off. I don't have any of their paid devices. I have the free ones, of course. I used them all immediately after checkout and that was prettt much it for me. I guess I really didn't care for the sound of the synths or it could be that the GUI turned me off so...

Re: Now And Then — The Last Beatles Song

Not entirely sure you can call it a cash grab? The demo was initially written in 1978, and the project wasn't started until 1995. They decided then that it didn't work well enough to finish and release, sat on it for nearly 30 years, and then were inspired to revisit it because of advancements in m...

I'm getting ES-01 because it's on sale for $19. I beta tested it years ago and have wanted it since.

Re: Now And Then — The Last Beatles Song

It's easy to forget that many, many of the Beatles songs were just average. Loads of filler on the early albums and too much experimentation on the later ones. They made some great songs but not every song they made was great. Agreed. I consider there to be basically two eras of The Beatles. The fi...

Re: Now And Then — The Last Beatles Song

Cool technology Peter Jackson has there. The isolated JL vocals sound so clear. It's hard to believe it was pulled from a shitty cassette tape recording. Definitely some magic enhancements going on with that process. I guess they couldn't do it with Melodyne? I've never used Melodyne. I love The Bea...

It's also strange that the link to the sale (from the RS website and Companion) goes through a filter only showing sales from Ekss and Noise Eng.

FYI, bundles aren't always the best deal. ha ha ha

Re: Ekssperimental Sounds multi-FX bundle

I'm curious why Anoma isn't in the bundle. I picked that up during the last sale for 50% off and I think it's great at making stuff sound bad, in a good way. Anoma was released after this bundle was originally compiled. I was unaware that this was a regularly available bundle. I thought this was on...

Re: Ruina, holy fuq

On a separate note, I don't think Noise Engineering did themselves any favors with the strange way they chose to name their devices. So true! I think I've all of them except that delay / reverb thing (I have to buy it on next sale!) and I never know which should I pick for bass, which for leads, wh...

Re: Compulsory Companion

Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think it's impossible, no. Authorizer still works for R1-R11. It may eventually stop working in the future, as it isn't being supported any more. But to the best of my knowledge, it is still downloadable on the Reason website and is still working.

Re: Ruina, holy fuq

Thanks for posting this tip. It actually sounds great on a saw, pulse, and sine wave. I, too, had dismissed Ruina because it was just too harsh and seemed hard to tame, but I guess I was feeding it too much of a signal. Simple signal for best results with Ruina. Got it. On a separate note, I don't t...

Re: Using a 32 in. Smart TV with Reason

I regularly use my LG 45" and 50" HDTVs with my computer (and Reason) and they work great. But they are both 4k, not 720p. I'm actually surprised that 720p is still available for new TVs these days. If you are going to go the TV route (which makes a great monitor, IMO), I'd definitely go with HD. If...

I think the upgrade price increases by $10 each time you mention "ignition key" on this forum. It's harsh but there is nothing us worms can do about it. This is the way. Just like elsewhere in the world with the cow fart impact, I am OK paying a tax nudging me to reduce my involuntary ignition key ...
