AD 480 Reverb is in the shop!

I'm currently trialling it and really like it a lot, but as owner of quite a few reverb REs already, I'm primarily interested in something that can really bring out-of-the-box sounds. This one does weird very well, but there doesn't seem to be much weirdness on offer that I can't already achieve wit...

Interesting device - what would be its main applications (as opposed to, say a simple compressor)?

Blamsoft Resampler is a must have!

Yep it's great. I'm not really a fan of that lo-fi digital bitcrushy sound, but when applied with a very light touch this unit will roughen things up beautifully. Seems to bring out all sorts of nice overtones in the higher freqs.

Reason 8.3: RV7000 gets convolution :-)

Are you beta testing 8.3 right now? I am, but work's gone insane and I barely have time to spend more than 5 mins at a stretch in Reason at the moment. Can't see that changing for at least the next couple of weeks. The new RV is mind blowing but I haven't really had the chance to do a proper compar...

Reason 8.3: RV7000 gets convolution :-)

Do you guys think that a reverb like this could function as a reasonable substitute for Synapse's Fat Space reverb? I've been trialling Fat Space and I really like it, but can't quite get over the price. From what I'm reading, it seems like there's not much you can't do with a good convolution rever...

What are you watching at the moment? (possible spoilers)

Looking, season 1 Comedy/drama about a bunch of gay dudes in San Francisco. Not really a big-issue-based or "political" gay thing, just a story that happens to be about a bunch of gay guys. It's been compared to Girls and Sex & The City, in that the story revolves around a group of friends who are a...

I use ReVolt a lot in combination with Quadelectra's CV Suite Line Processor, it's great to be able to warp & twist the signal while seeing exactly what you're doing.

New RE prices (for all EURO buyers) june 1st

Big long essays on economics aside. I now pay 20% more. Simple as that. No customer in the world is happy about paying more, and 20% more is a substantial increase. Not a small one. Well, that's one way of looking at it. The other way of looking at it is that on a 20 euro purchase, you're looking a...

New RE prices (for all EURO buyers) june 1st

Some of the responses on this thread make it sound like Reason users have to pay the full price every time they load a device. €50 for unlimited instances of a device, for life, compared to several hundred € for a single hardware effect or synth is dirt cheap. People spend €50 a month at Starbucks ...

How do you like them? I like the DC-9 a lot, but not so much the orange one. Trialled the Toob distortion when it came out, but couldn't get it sounding good at all.

Synapse Audio FX Bundle questions

The Synapse bundle is quality all the way. I love the filter, it's one of my favourite REs, and the EQ is unique, took me a while to get used to it but I love it for bass boosts. Ring modulation isn't everyone's cup of tea, but at low setting the RM makes for a cool (non-synced) tremolo with overdri...

Softube Spring Reverb and Tube Delay

Softube Tube Delay is a weird one in many respects. Setting tempo sync in particular seems a little perverse, and the sound is fine but nothing special imo. I really tried to get to like this device, but in the end The Echo beats it hands down. Really like Spring Reverb though. It's a one trick pony...

I find that the Reason rack is the first image in my mind when I start to wake up in the morning. Also if I'm having trouble getting to sleep, I'll picture the rack and start imagining new & exciting routing options between devices. I probably need help.

Pulsar... what do you think?

I generally prefer Little LFO. Four oscs, more useful functions (e.g. PWM), and you can get it to go real S-L-O-W. Pulsar's slowest setting is 0.06 Hz while Little LFO will go down all the way to zero - believe it or not, that's been an issue for me. Wish it had invert CV like Pulsar does, but a spl...

Opinions on RP's QUAD synth?

Same experience here as many others on this thread - I found Quad to be too odd for musical sounds, but also too "straight" for really out-there weird noise. Maybe I didn't spend enough time with it, but it seemed sort of limited and hard-wired to a fairly narrow palette of sounds.

Terrible idea. I finally buckled the other day, and bought Parsec. Yeah this is an absolute killer. Insane sounds, I've just been running some presets thru the Synapse AF-4 filter with some added drive and a bit of the hi end rolled off, and it sounds like something from the BBC Radiophonic Workshop circa 1973. I trialled PX7 a while back and it just left me scratc...
