McDSP 670 compressor. Thoughts?
Time constant = release. It's kinda slow, even at the fastest setting (i.e. all the way to the left).

McDSP 670 compressor. Thoughts?
I'm getting fine floral honeysuckle notes with lingering hazelnut overtones and a long, smooth delicate finish of toasted cocoa nibs and ripe tannins. An elegant, complex compressor, ready to use now or within the next five years. Perfect on the master bus or with roast chicken.

Relight Harmonic exciter is in the Shop !
Slightly OT, but the weirdness of the "Similar products" list at the bottom of the page just struck me. "Similar products" to the Relight Exciter are: a filter, a bass amp, a de-esser and a phaser. The exclusion of the Red Rock Sound exciter implies that it's less similar to the Relight than these o...

Step and Select are in the shop!
I can't get velocity to work - drawing in curves does nothing, unless I reduce the velocity to zero, in which case the note is silent. Same with the velocity knob - silent at zero, then consistent velocity everywhere else, like an on/off switch. I've gone through the manual - what am I missing here...

Euclid Kong Front8 combi patch
Are you unsuccessful with all the other various download links people have kindly shared here, or is this one an exception ? No it's just happening with this one. I'm now on my PC at work, and the link just directed me to the ReasonTalk login page, but when I logged in, the download went ahead. Cur...

I'm using Firefox and Windows 8... working. Maybe try logging out. Clear your cookies, then logging back in. Just throwing an idea out there. Or try restarting your computer? Or I could email you the file. Of course, this problem is much bigger than my stupid little combi patch, if you aren't a...

Customer support is one guy in Germany, he's not bad at answering emails & forum queries, but his English ain't great and he often misses the point of your inquiry. Result: frustration. Not that I use Wavelab, but I think my English is passable, so let me know if there is something you think I coul...

I'm using WaveLab, which is the DAW I got started on. I make radio documentaries, and for big complex editing jobs it's hard to beat. It's also a mastering program and I'll often export a Reason session into WaveLab as a "last stop" for that final spit & polish (sometimes just to run U-He's Satin ac...

RE compressors
I personally (notice the word personally) like to use the FET compressor. The SSL compressors have a nice touch, but when it comes to parallel compression I personally (there is that word again) like to use the FET compressor over the SSL mixer. Compressors are in different flavors, just like ice c...

So does that make a huge difference?Puckboy2000 wrote: My new one has a 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
I'm running a 2010 MBP with a 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5, and while it's basically fine, I do hit the CPU ceiling pretty fast when piling on the REs. Are you using lots of REs and finding it no problem?

POLL: Have you bought a Propellerhead Rig? (Super Saver Bundle)
Exactly. Everybody who wants to buy a RE should be required to look in the mirror and repeat these words five times before they can click through.Namahs Amrak wrote:When I pay for something, the money is gone. I made the choice at the time, and determined it a good enough deal to buy at the time.

Everybody probably already knows to do this, but just in case: I set up my template with each Send effect going to its own dedicated mix channel. It's significantly enhanced my quality of life.

8. Unison - Default Surprised more people aren't including this in their sends - I change my template from time to time but the half-rack Unison device is always there, I love it. Love for 3plex
3Plex is great, I find the UI a bit fiddly, and it always takes me a while to get results with it that I like. Definitely not one of those devices where you just whack it into the rack & within seconds you've dialled in a cool sound. But it's definitely worth the effort.
