Chenille Chorus RE - explorations with the device
There's a button that switches all the mod knobs from editing the mod depth to editing the mod rate. It's the square button between the two LFO knobs and the BBD1 knob settings. When this is blue, you are editing the depth of all the BBDs. Click it and it changes Red. When it is red, you can now adj...

Waves PAZ is $150 USD alone, more than the cost of an entire typical Reason upgrade. I wouldn't expect Reason's spectral EQ interface for the mixer to be even remotely close to PAZ in features, but I'm afraid you're still selling the worth of Reason's analyzer short. Why? Why wouldn't I expect Rea...

The Waves Spectrum Analyzer (top end example) and Reason's Spectrum EQ are both analyzers, and both are fun to use. But when it comes time to delve more deeply and seriously into your audio, there's only one that is up to the job. And honestly, which one would you rather play with? Perhaps another a...

My rant: Propellerhead, a lost of conversation
FYI: Before we had REs, we had complete collaboration capability. Without the need for a shared service. technically, at least.

Anyone can pull any service at any time. That's a fact also. Apple bought a DAW and made it Apple only, so you could also say, "don't get any DAW that is closed source and not on Apple, because all DAWs could be bought out by Apple so only buy Apple DAWs." That's based on history. Google have pulle...

That R4 synth was Thor, which provided a massive amount of possibilities, both audio and CV-wise. It was a major game changer, just as much as the Combinator was in 3.0. The point is just look at what the Props got us used to with their upgrades. at least a few new devices (even 7.0 gave us Synchro...

That's true from the perspective of marketability, but does not justify chastisement of their less marketable efforts. I'm not chastising any of their efforts. I'm analyzing their final product. And I feel that the browser alone (and drag and drop -- incidentally you could drag and drop files direc...

As well as the browser, PH are constantly working on the RE SDK. It's something YOU can't see immediately, but it's necessary work that will result in more things to see in the future. Sometimes good work goes without merit and isn't appreciated until it's taken away. Indeed. I often forget this....

I think a big part of the problem is that R8 was a really "nothing" release. Aside from the Browser (and even then, some people don't like it), what are we getting for our money? Compare this upgrade to 4, 5, or even 6. Take a look at what you got with those. Then come back and let's talk. Sure, le...

i suspect their good work would have been much more appreciated had the fruits of it been released on a 2-3 year update cycle rather than the 1 and a bit one we now seem to be on. now it's like every other update is worth buying. i appreciate they've had a financial down year, a hardware product w...

There are many ways of looking at things. Creating a browser isn't just a matter of point and click for the developers, so although you might not appreciate the work these guys have been slaving 8-12 hours a day for, it was a job that just needed to be done. I've worked in software since 1999 (QA, ...

The fact that the Props didn't want to archive the forums as a "read only" place hosted on their site (let's face it, hosting a big wad of information costs nothing really), tells me that there's much more to the forum closing than just not wanting to deal with the moderation and/or resources. If th...

they killed "reason explained" as well!
I think the biggest screwup in this whole process (aside from the fact that it was rushed), is the fact that there was zero communication as to which forums and what content was going bye bye. So we were left in the dark the whole time. Just a "this place is closing" message.
