Help With Neo Soul Keys
I installed Neo Soul Keys studio an it works fine standalone. Reason picks it up and it shows on the Instruments menu but says "Failed to open file" when I try to open it in reason. Anybody have any idea? I reinstalled a bunch of times. Thank you

Re: Ozone 7 vs Ozone rack extension
Supposedly Ozone 7 and Pro-L are better than Ozone RE but i don't notice a big difference, For me Ozone RE does the job well The advantage I see in the vst is can be used in others DAW Same here, I have tested both on a mix and ended up using the RE because it sounded better for that mix. No I mean...

Re: Ozone 7 vs Ozone rack extension
The VST Ozone 7 has more algorithms. IRC 4(Intelligent Release Control) uses "spectral shaping technology". The way I understand or hear it, is that I can push the limiter a lot harder without distortion. Cool I bought fab filter and so far it seems amazing. Aeox, the track in your sig is dope and ...

Reason Pianos vs VST's
I need top notch pianos, the Factory Soundbank actually has some good options, but I need more...anyone have any insights as to how Pianos stacks up against VSTs or even Radical Piano? Thank you.

Ozone 7 vs Ozone rack extension
Hi, I'm wondering how the Ozone rack extension limiter compares to the limiter in Ozone 7, or to Fab Filter Pro-L? I haven't been able to find any comparisons online.
Thank you!
Thank you!

Best Organ VST?
Hello, I think I've exhausted Abby Roads and Electro Mechanical Keys for Organs and am looking for the best VST for retro organs, that covers everything from gospel to fuzz guitar rock. Maybe there is a rack extension that is better than any VST? I'm new to VSTs. Thanks!

Thanks. I was using balanced 1/4". I'll have to double check if it makes the noise without anything plugged in.

Question on Mackie HR624 mk2
I recently got an open box special on a set of these - Mackie HR624 mk2 - however when I power them on and off they make a prominent static/pop/poc noise - does anyone have these monitors and do theirs behave like this??
Thank you!
Thank you!

Re: Issue with MDP218 & Reason - Video included
Just picked one up today and it is everything I was hoping for. No ghost notes for me. I was however hoping the pads would light up when playing back my sequence, is there any way to get Reason to send the midi data back to the MPD218 so that the pads light up on playback? That would be great. Other...

Re: (hip hop/beats) Beats that were gathering dust
Nice I'm impressed it turned out this good mixing on cans. I may check those out, I think my Sony's are louder in one ear than the other. I can def relate on the "need to add more". Nice selection/chops!

Re: (hip hop/beats) Beats that were gathering dust
Nice work the mixes sound good on my Yamaha's. I think they are arranged more as standalone istrumentals but if you had a rapper in mind you may want go for a 16 bar verse/8 bar chorus format. I tend to like tuff/hard sounding beats and there were a few parts that flirted with being "ambient" but ne...

Re: Monitor Placement
^Good point. I think I will have to choose between which ones I plan to make my "main" monitors and which ones I want to use for "checking". Since I'm more concerned with mid-range these days, think I 'll make the A5x's my main ones and use the Yamahas HS80m's more for bass-checking. Thanks for the ...

Re: Monitor Placement
Thanks guys, yeah I'm familiar with the triangle rule, but for people with more than one set of monitors it would imply that you need to change your seat's position every time you switch back and forth.

Monitor Placement
Hi I have a pair of Yamaha HS80m and am about to pick up some Adam a5x. Currently my Yamaha are directly on either side of my computer monitor. When I install the Adams', since they are 5" speakers, is it better to have them closer together (where the yamaha's are now) and move the Yamaha's to the o...

I've learned, through much trial and error, that applying a Master EQ is probably best to be handled by a professional mastering engineer.

Amp for Auratone 5c
I'm considering getting some Auratone 5c's. They are a passive speaker and was wondering if a good old Sony component receiver (100w per channel) which I've had since 2000 would have any negative effects on getting the most out of these monitors, or if I should get some other kind of amp. Any though...

Re: Mix Not Translating to Car, Help Please!
Interesting...which part? Do you mean in the intro? just listened on my Galaxy Avant and the rhodes was too aggressive on the intro sample but actually sounded kinda alright on the verse? Could even hear some mids from the electric bass...interested in what you heard. Thanks!

Re: Mix Not Translating to Car, Help Please!
Thanks for all the tips everyone. I took a lot of the above advice, re-mixed the sample, and I think I'm close to as un-muddy as it's gonna get while leaving it as a sample-based track and playing the chops in nnxt. I routed a few chops to their own mix channel to even out the dynamics more on the v...

Re: Mix Not Translating to Car, Help Please!
Are you referencing your CD's through your monitors? You only mentioned your CD's in relation to your car. Knowing what your CD's sound like in your room and matching your mix quality to that is essential to getting your mixes to translate. Also you're Mixing 808's Rhodes and Bass which is by defin...
