Re: List your ideas for "easy" upgrades to current modules
Yeah but quite often I actually make a full rhythm in a Redrum and mix it using the device (level, pan etc) rather than breaking out each sound to it's own channel, so a simple button on the device would help get around having to break out a single hit just to make it mono. It's not a big deal, jus...

Re: Best Refill/RE with Jazz Trumpet Samples?
Not samples (or ReFill), but modeled... I am beta testing the SWAM brass instruments by Audio Modeling and they are very impressive and convincing. I'm using them with my Seaboard Block. I love their stuff and having acoustic modeled instruments that have so much expression and control. Wow that's ...

Best Refill/RE with Jazz Trumpet Samples?
I'm looking for convincing trumpet samples. Not loops, but samples that sound realistic. I'm composing songs for a jazz trumpet player and it's better to have at least a decent, somewhat passable sounding set of samples while working on them. I'm tired of those bleaty lambs squalking from the NX fro...

Re: Reason 11 is dropping ReWire completely.
So they're giving more reason to not use Reason's sequencer. They're prioritizing the rack above the seq. part. I guess it's inevitable seeing that Reason began as a rack.

Re: Reason 11 is dropping ReWire completely.
Explain this please; I have songs written fully in Reason and my occasional writing partner in another state has almost the exact same reason setup. He usually rewires Reason to PT and cuts all the vocals and live instruments in PT. Will he still be able to open Reason as a VST and play the entire ...

Re: Reason 11 is dropping ReWire completely.
The only thing you’re actually losing without Rewire as you mentioned is Regroove, which I agree is a considerable loss. Otherwise, nothing else you mentioned would be affected at all. Plenty of VSTs have multi-outs and sync to tempo. It’s a Reason rack plugin, so you would use multiple instances l...

Will the UAD issue be part of VST fix?
I'm sure this was probably covered deep inside some thread already but; Should we expect the buffer size problem that's at the heart of the Props' VST update to also allow UAD to access it's preferred 32 sample buffer? I could very well be talking like an idiot... I've no clue. To rephrase; will thi...

Hey is this Native or using the UAD DSP?
Was this truly fixed or do we have UAD taking up the computer's DSP?

Re: Categorize by Type or by RE name
I agree this is annoying. That's why nowadays I always use the "Favorite list" function. You should too if you don't. Then you can make your own categories: Compressors, Synths, EQs etc. This has made things so much better. +1 that is what i do too. it's the only option we've currently got and it's...

Re: Categorize by Type or by RE name
I need the "Coloring EQ" I should be able to look through a category named "EQ" or "Equalizer" rather than looking for Giles, and cussing again and again because I know it's by Giles and I don't see Giles anywhere...WTF? WHERE IS THAT COLORING EQ?? That's 'cause it's by Selig. :) I think an option ...

Re: best auto tune product?
Especially if you're the engineer or producer and the singer is PAYING you to record and you need transparent tuning. I use Melodyne too. I've used the rest and I would say that for the glitch effect, AT works the best, but for transparent selective tuning, Melodyne can't be beat. The sound of pop m...

Re: Add plugin to multiple tracks at once
@Loque Here's another potential use case: A channel strip that you like to use on a number of different tracks. Izotope Alloy 2, for example, has a number of different, lightweight tools for mixing. I agree that you don't want to be splashing the same reverb or delay across many different tracks - ...

Categorize by Type or by RE name
This has probably been mentioned before...might've been by me but; I would like for Props to give us an option to categorize devices by type, or RE name rather than by company. I'm looking for a compressor, or synth, I don't know or care about the company's name. I never go "is that by Blamsoft or P...

Re: What features are REALLY necessary for Reason 11
I’ve spent a lot more time in the editor lately, and one thing that’s been driving me absolutely bonkers is the zoom settings/view changes that happen whenever I need to undo something. they really need to at least have the option for undos to retain current position and zoom...and while they’re at...

Re: Reason 10.2 with workflow improvements. - OUT NOW
I spend about 2 days a month creating, tweaking and sound crafting. This is also when I learn the REs I have in my rack. As I learn, I end up making new sounds. I name and save them to a separate folder with all my other crazy named presets I created. Then on days when I'm writing, I have lots of s...

Re: Reason 10.2 with workflow improvements. - OUT NOW
So what's cool about Reason NOW in late 2018, is that if I don't CARE about the wires, I can still make music with it, and it's still fun. When I used to mess with wires, I barely finished any music. Reminds me of something Herbie Hancock said when he was talking about programming synths: "By the t...

Re: Reason 10.2 with workflow improvements. - OUT NOW
What's 'Wait For Note'? like waiting for a note to be played on your midi controller? Yes exactly, it's an ancient functionality and simple. You hit the button, the click starts but waits for you and begins when you hit the first note. Simple, elegant and I can't believe Reason hasn't had it all th...

Re: New SAW-1 Discovery SawWave Synth in the shop
My buddy had a spray painted synth with cobbled together parts and maybe 3 knobs and the rest were just posts. It was a great sounding custom synth. It was butt ugly. But the sound was superb!

Re: Compressors. How many do you really need?
In answering the OP's question, I was gonna say all I need is a lot of 1176s, and LA2As and I'm good! But then the Distressor which is a gift to all mankind popped up in my mind . Then there's the Neve 33609 Stereo bus compressor which glues a mix together. Oh and the DBX 160 (the old one) which is ...

Re: Compressors. How many do you really need?
Our brain might consider a compressed sound to be louder than it actually is because it "thinks" the ear had to compress it. Obviously these in-ear compressors most probably sound different from person to person (we will never know for sure ;)) so that might also be an explanation for people prefer...

Re: I wish Props would make a new Mixer
LP and HP low and hi pass? as in filters Or LF and HF low and hi freq? as in treble and bass? Nice mock-Up. I’m still not 100% sure what I would choose. At first I was thinking EQ shelves, then realized filters would possibly be more useful. If there was space I would allow them to be switched indi...

Re: Is modern music rubbish?
I think we live in very interesting times. Top of the charts in Spotify is utterly shitty for my taste, too much quantise, too much auto-tune, too much perfection and gloss, but there's so many music which is not like that. It is mostly retro though because all music software is now focussed on aut...
