Re: Reason 12 is coming!
I think I might upgrade. That's a pretty big thing to say. I've been spending all my money on eurorack modules (doing diy and building lots) and now I've got so many I have a surplus. But I've been reviewing a lot of my old Reason song files when I hooked my backup hard drive up to archive the last...

Re: The Combinator v2 Thread
Yeah man, the remote side of things in an environment where one device shows differerent controls on a patch by patch basis will be a challenge. I doubt they even think about a solution. They will probably present us with a fixed number of remote items per combinator independent of what controls are...

Re: The Combinator v2 Thread
I dont know about the Combinator within a Combinator thing. As cool as it would be, things would get pretty complicated quickly. And how would it be done graphically. As it is every nested Combinator would cut out some space at the edges. If the make the new Combinator very dynamical in terms of CV ...

Re: Reason 12 is coming!
There hasnt been a single Update where everyone went wow, perfect! There have been updates with bigger and smaller shitstorms. I myself have taken part in a few of them. My personal no1 request for years is some sort of clip launching facility. It is still not in there though most DAWs have it. I ha...

Re: Reason 11.4 Feature Request - MIDI Device selection
The blue arrow certainly works but it creates a Midi Track for every device you click on. For simple controller allocation there should be a different approach that doesnt clutter your sequencer with tracks. EG "lock controller to selected rack device" as a remote item. Right click on the device in...

Re: Generic remote codec with pickup or bidirectional mode
If you take Koshdukais bidirectional version, Reason should send out Midi CCs to the specified port in the remote preferences. The Question is if those are the right ones and how your synth handles the display of incoming CCs. Pickup Mode is totally possible but requires at least two more functions ...

Re: Looking for an alternative Drummachine to Mixfood Knock
Just to give you an idea why i want to have the sample selection remotable. With Drums you are likely to search alot for sounds. While for people who work mostly in the DAW it might not be an issue to switch to the Drum Machine in the Rack, select the Channel, hit the Sample button and go to the bro...

Re: Looking for an alternative Drummachine to Mixfood Knock
I want to get away from loading samples via the Browser because it is not remotable. And i had a Modpanel/NNXT setup to control 8 NNXTs and chose sounds via notes. The problem with that though was that even if all NNXTs used the same samples the loading times were 8 times as long which was pretty an...

Re: Looking for an alternative Drummachine to KnockKock
Yeah thats the one i use. It is ugly but pretty damn good in terms of features and most importantly remotablity. I just wish it had a bit more modern sounds integrated.

Looking for an alternative Drummachine to Mixfood Knock
I am currently using Knock as my main Drum Machine and the reason is that it has a pretty big sample library integrated in a way that i can browse sounds via remote. This not only leads to click free selection of sounds on my controller but also means i can create random soundsets with the press of ...

Re: Extend Remote to include Browser & Toolbar
I second this but don't hold your breath on this. I have asked for this, i dont know like 10 years ago? A couple of times since then. The last time they touched Remote was when ReDrum got new items which is ages ago. also: select next rackdevice select previous rackdevice select next sample select p...

Re: Overbridge and Reason
Ah yeah the latency, i was just thinking about it. The latency the overbridge introduces, does it come ontop of your main soundcards latency or does it just apply to the VST-Wrapper (since it uses its own kind of driver), so that i dont have additional latency when triggering a normal Reason Synth b...

Overbridge and Reason
I just noticed that one of the last updates of overbridge has this entry in the patchnotes: "The plugins now present mono hardware buses as mono instead of stereo when loaded into Reason" Has anyone tried that out with Digitakt? And can now all outputs of the Digitakt be routed to the VSTWrapper in ...

Evolution - a few things
I love Evolution and i have layed out its functions on my launchpad. There are two things though which i would love to see adressed. I miss pressing a pad to activate the randomize function in the Seed section. That would probably one of the most used remote items for me if it existed. Then the litt...

Re: Your opinions on sequencers please
I just bought sequences and use it for quick recording of the output of other players like Quadnote. With replace mode it is the easiest way to record loops. The king of stepsequencers is StepNote imho and not only in the reason realm not only because you can turn it into a hardware sequencer.

If you have a Launchpad and knowledge how to program a Remote codec StepNoteRecorder is imho by far the best Stepsequencer on the Market. It is crazy what you can do with it.

Re: MIDI controller data not passed through to Reason Rack VST
Ok, i actually only tried it out in Bitwig and there i only got Numbers transferred not the Parameternames at the time i tried. Cool that Ableton does it right. I assume, that when you have an Instrument Rack for every Reason Synth and you add more devices (eg Effects) then the premapped Parameters ...

Re: MIDI controller data not passed through to Reason Rack VST
Normally in Ableton when you load a VST you click on the configure button and wiggle all paramaters in the VST and they then show up as remotable parameters. You then save them as an Instrument Rack for later reloading. I dont know what happens if you change devices within that rack though. I guess ...

Re: Does Reason need to join the party and get its own controller?
And controllerwise, i wish someone hacks the Circuit to make it programmable like a launchpad. It has such nice encoders with good resolution, resistance and at least a colour coded indicator. And lots of colourable buttons which is even more important than the actual number of encoders (though 16 w...

Re: Does Reason need to join the party and get its own controller?
An upgrade to REmote should have the following imho: -integration of the Browser into remote (navigation, loading patches items, showing names) -a way to control the selected rack device the same way as selected track. -Display the Rack on a Launchpad for navigation purposes (two collums= one rack) ...

Re: Does Reason need to join the party and get its own controller?
Also why do people think has Live become so popular? Imho in the very first place it is because of the combination of their clip Launcher with a cheap ass Launchpad. The hardware is really not the issue. If you want the functionality of the controller above, get a Twister, a Launchpad Mini and an Ip...

Re: Does Reason need to join the party and get its own controller?
They dont need to make an actual controller but give us more functions to be remote controlled on the DAW side and on the Rack Extension side (i was kindof disgusted by the super bad Remote implementation of Umpf, we also need remotable record buttons on players damnit). On the DAW side we need remo...
