Softube Guitar Amp RE
I like amps with some dirt, tube etc, but so many of them are very much directed to distorsion based music. While that flavour is good to have, I am way more interested in tones suited for soul, jazz, reggae, world music, funk etc. I have not yet digged deep enough into the functions of the differ...

Forgot to mention, I also have a Marshall Studio 15. The best Marshall that's not huge. I own it for 30 years. But I prefer Softube Amp

Softube Guitar Amp RE
I LOVE the Softube Amps. The only model I don't like much is Rock which has a very compressed tone. Although it is a Marshall brown tone and the high end is super sweet and feel is very much tube like, it's too much compressed. I also feel the Bright Cabinet is a little too bright. And it would be g...

Softube Transient Shaper and Mutator: RE versions around the corner?
Try Transient Shaper of Kong! Kong has a few very nice modules which you easily use for FX. I do that often.
Still the cool thing about Reason: we can make this stuff by combining a few modules.

Understanding loudness, LUFS and R128 (using Measure RE)
I love this -23 LUFS norm offering super dynamics. It's like for the first time people start using the full range of audio again.
Sound is improving again because of this. The Loudness War is over.

Need to record it. Might do one day. But on Amp you can choose Crunch + Room (for Cabinet) to get that Vox modelling. Without or with Boost it sounds really good.

for example something like this:

that "complex mids" tone. overdriven yet super transparent without sounding shrill.

Kuassa and Softube for guitar
... I am hearing an extreme compressor kicking in all the time here. Is it YouTube or the guy? My point is that many people find the exact tones they want and love in numerous other guitar softwares. Guitarists should try them out and decide. Same with real amps. I believe that Reason has become...

Kuassa and Softube for guitar
I'm not a Guitar/ Bass player, but I was curious about how Logic Pro X's Amp Designer, and Guitar Rig 5 stack up against the Softube and Kuassa RE's? I find Guitar Rig 5 harsh in the high end and doesn't feel as nice as Softube Amp (has everything to do with how on Amp the compression factor is gre...

Using Softube Amp and Bass Amp as reverb units
A few weeks ago I mentioned that the Softube Amp contains a bit of STEREO ambience sound turning any MONO source into a STEREO signal. Cool, right? Yes, but what is even cooler is that I was able to remove the direct signal so the ambience effect can be applied as a kind of short reverb to any sourc...

Bouncing to REX File Sounds Yucky
No need for everyone to get in an uproar with each other over my obscure issue. :) I'm sure the extra slice thing is a bug. But a fairly inconsequential one if it is only triggered by attempting to REXify a file that (as has been pointed out to me) no one in their right mind would try to REXify in ...

Yes, and it's also shown by default in folded minimalised format. Smart!kloeckno wrote:Yes, it appears the "integrated" R128 mode on the back panel gives you the loudness of the entire track.

very cool. in minimal folded version it shows everything I want to know. I am missing the manual of it, website contains old version and doesn't offer 100% clearness on all settings http://redrocksound.ru/products/measure bit of a bummer. but... yeah, interesting RE!

I understand what you're saying but if a client simply wants something at -23 LUFS for the whole track that is super easy with the right software. What do you find complicated about it so you don't want to master it yourself? I have done many things for radio this way. It's really easy imo.

What do you use for measuring loudness? I use a LUFS plugin in Ableton most of the time but would love to use something in Reason. No RE at the moment is offering what I want. The Flower Audio Loudness Meter RE looks ok but measures only very short periods. Why not ALSO measure the whole song in LU...

Selig Flat Headphone Filters (request)
I think the difference between headphones and monitors is mainly: - blending of frequencies from left to right speakers and vise versa - the ambience sound of playing sound in a room But I found out that the only thing that counts is: knowing your equipment. Flat is not interesting. Many superb soun...

My rant: Propellerhead, a lost of conversation
I wholeheartedly agree with this perspective Marco. Collaboration IS in fact a cummunication effort. In Discover there is no communication. With it's introduction to the public though I'm not sure the Forums (had they chose to keep them open) would have still been the best option for communicati...

there are so many cool things you can do with these kind of things. what about sharing info about melodies and harmonies? would be cool. but ok, Discover in not for me and it's not meant for someone like me I guess. I feel lost, a bit. I also use Ableton Live but when I go there I feel I need to un...

fatter sounding is like adding more bass and maybe tightening it up a little with a compressor?
I tend to use as little tracks effects as I can. and I love keeping all raw dynamics. stuff starts to sound so even and boring quickly.

My rant: Propellerhead, a lost of conversation
Propellerhead has recently closed its forums . At the same time they released the new music collaboration service called Discover . A service that lacks a way to communicate. But how can we collaborate if we are not able to communicate? I wrote a longread about this on my blog: http://melodiefabr...
