If Props introduced a subscription plan for Reason................
Since this is a speculation thread… For those that are against subscription models, are you saying you would NOT go for a $1 a month subscription? Because if you say yes, then (as they say) now we're just haggling over the price. ;) oh yeah, and what if they mail out candy and gold bars to all su...

Tutorial: Beautiful Pluck Synth!
I tried making these tutorials helpful, clearly they weren't. I won't be doing anymore tutorials until everything I do is by the book, if there's such thing. I'll probably delete the tutorials, as they caused a bit of a dispute. Sorry about this. no reason to quit! everyone still has a lot to learn...

Is it possible to pan individual Osc with thor's programmer?
I'm making complex combinator synths with loads of voices so every combi or thor knob, input, programer space is very important, that's why i'm so thrifty, i need pan thing because i need to spread voices but adding mixers requires another thor for filters that mean adding another bunch of thors an...

Whoa whoa there, my apologies if you somehow took personal offense to something that wasn't even directed at you personally. If fact I didn't personally say anyone in particular was going ga ga if you go back and see exactly what I typed. It was more tongue in cheek to indicate that I myself am no...

Reason 8.2 Update is Available!
Faster is relative. Your idea of fast is not going to be exactly as mine. These so called updates are more like bug fixes IMO and are still not worth $129 coming from 7.1 Sorry I can't get excited about improvements that should have been on point initially with the perceived rushed release of 8.0, ...

R8 users: what's your opinion of the browser now?
If you have 10 patches in a folder and you want to check just patch one and patch ten: In Reason 7, you had 1. Open browser. 2. Click patch 1. (immediately playable) 3. Click patch 10. (immediately playable) In Reason 8 1. Open browser 2. Click patch patch 1 (nothing happens) 3. Click Load (now pla...

reasoon 8.2 revert comes on goes
I don't really get this new feature (at least I don't get the need for it), because all you needed to do before this update was hit undo (cntl+z). each undo can only go back one step. this is for when you are previewing LOTS of patches. let's say you want to replace a synth, so you go into "browse"...

mmm yeah love the new colors. if they were willing to finally make this improvement that's been a staple in their DAW for years, does that also mean hope is not lost for a darker, less blinding transport theme down the road?!

Q: Never touch the master fader?
It's not called the "Mastering Section" insert, it's the MASTER section insert. Modern mix consoles have this option, and it's not used for "mastering" as far as I know. Mastering has never traditionally been done BEFORE the signal leaves the mix console. It's done after the mix is complete (again,...

Q: Never touch the master fader?
That sounds like an even "messier" solution (using sends etc.). To me it makes TOTAL sense to not have the mastering devices in the MIXING console! ;) I think a dedicated mastering area between the Master Section and the Hardware Interface would be the most logical, and would replicate the typica...

Q: Never touch the master fader?
if you wanna clean up your set-up a bit, you could use the "ctrl room out" to do your sidechain split into your master comp, and then use your master inserts for the gain/ozone you have. just a recommendation, but it ain't broke, so no need to fix it! i just think the ctrl room out is really the un...

Q: Never touch the master fader?
Dither is indeed subtle, and would only affect the quieter moments making it difficult to effectively judge in anything but the quietest of rooms IMO. You can leave Ozone where it is as long as you DON'T touch the master fader (bringing this full circle!). But here's how I've been doing it: https:/...

What are your prefered SSL mixer FX?
I didn't use templates for the longest time, but I found that while brainstorming, my projects just got so messy and it lead to me being unmotivated to dig through it or add to it. Now I use a template with labeled channels and coloring laid out, very basic mix busses and some designated side-chain ...

You know what, it isn't possible because whatever you do with the Reason - the "Reason Sound" is there. I know the ReGroove folder in the Factory Sound Bank is pretty large and has a lot of variety. I'm just curious if anyone has ever made a collection of new grooves to supplement them? Just curious.

The Discover/mobile app direction by PH is definitely a gamble, but it's a smart one. Even if it doesn't appeal to you as a product, you can't say it's a bad decision. There are generations of children now who are going to live their whole lives without a personal desktop computer. Seriously, unles...

Every synth sounds different, hardware or software. You can (for example) make a sound with a Juno 106 that you cannot make with a MKS-70, and vice-versa ... I must know, I tried. The most boring synths are those that try to be very general to cover a large domain of sounds. Personally I think the ...

What about the super combinator?
I support this only because everyone else seems so passionate about it, but I have no idea how people need more than 4 knobs to modulate a sound. Have you guys tried lumping parameters together? I can't imagine separately automating 4+ knobs that each do something different. At that point I'd rather...

Q : SSL individual channel compressor
Hmm. Well, though I've gotten some lovely results from this comp, I'm still not quite sure "if" (put meme here) I still feel like I'm searching for "that" comp (and not sure what to try next) I would describe the MComp as a "utility" compressor, not one I'd use for it's sonic qualities. In fact, I...

The "REs are overpriced" thread ;)
It's overpriced if no one buys it. It's overpriced if you don't make enough money to cover the cost of development, distribution and marketing. It's overpriced when a developer cannot afford to create original work or port an existing product to another platform. this is definitely the bottom lin...
