Wonder why Pitch Edit is not mentioned. Well, we´d be 10 reasons then but one of the last reasons in the list could have been skipped

Re: Beatstep - reason integration
Glad you like it. Hi there, @Artotaku, so I've tried it and it's fantastic and does exactly what i wanted. Only glitch i've found is that pads 4 & 5 seem to be mapped at the same control. I also have looked in the lua script but at the moment i just don't get what happens there. Actually iam only in...

Re: Beatstep - reason integration
Ok, here you go. I wrote a codec a while ago where you can map a Redrum to Beatstep. It is just a basic codec and you cannot switch patterns or banks (only one pattern currently supported). With some lua programming experience, one could of course extend the codec. Disclaimer: I take no responsibili...

At least the intro hook of the rave tune is "Twilight Zone" by 2 Unlimited. I have the CD.
Don´t know if it was used by a computer game, though.

Re: Extending Reason: A Discussion of LUA
I'm signed up. Took a while, but I've got a more complete remotables list. (I'd suggest asking them for the updated list, the downloadable one is old.) Now I've got to run some tests to see if I can do some of the things I want to do. Then I'll start work on a Launchpad Pro luacodec. Good luck, you...

Re: Extending Reason: A Discussion of LUA
Having a decent spreadsheet of the remotable items, all of them, even the REs, would be a godsend for the community. You can grind your way through the REs if you want to incur the wrath of the dreaded Authorizer server timeout, but if you want a spreadsheet of all CC codes, there are many for the ...

Re: Extending Reason: A Discussion of LUA
I found that it is sufficient to deselect and select the checkbox of the remote script in Reason Preferences to initialize the remote script (after you have made changes to the script). Nope. On OSX, once you edit the control surface text file while Reason is running, the OS sandboxes it so it can ...

Re: Extending Reason: A Discussion of LUA
I can't wait to see what you have done. My earlier thoughts were that, since I could build up a plain .midicodec in a tab delineated export from a spreadsheet, it should be easy enough to export a LUA one through some sort of text based template with the LUA code in it. That way you really only hav...

Re: Extending Reason: A Discussion of LUA
Every time I edit a script I have to quit Reason completely and relaunch. It's a major slow down to my debugging (I never use the SDK tools for my projects), but I suppose it's a good thing that the OS is so paranoid. I found that it is sufficient to deselect and select the checkbox of the remote s...

Re: Main Sequencer Pattern Switching - Clip Launch!
Cool video. This technique has a lot of potential if you're willing to dive into CV. You could create Ableton style Scenes. It´s completely possible, only downside is that you need a lot of these devices and one cannot retrigger the loop from the start. Say for 64 scenes à 8 tracks (= channels) you...

Re: Main Sequencer Pattern Switching - Clip Launch!
Here's an example of how you can use switch between Main Sequencer drum patterns in real time and map each pattern to a button on your MIDI controller. Yes, I finally cracked it and it's a lot of fun! :) Sorry but this is Reason 8 only for now and I don't have time to explain it fully right at the ...

Reversing a sample remotely/by midi controller
Maybe this is for interest for some or some have a another/better way to do it. I was looking for a way to reverse a sample on the fly from a midi controller. First, I investigated the Reason stock devices that are able to load samples. Some of them have a reverse function that allows to reverse the...

Re: Deleting recorded patterns remotely?
There is no Remote Override for deleting a track so you´d need to use a keyboard shortcut for that as Stranger said. However, there are Remote Overrides for muting a target track or trigger a new overdub or new alternative take. Alternative take would mute any previous takes/lanes. Is it required th...

Re: Playing endless loops in Kong - possible?
After saving the sample with loop points drag the sample from browser -> Song Samples -> Assigned Samples -> Kong ... into the NN-Nano again. Somehow, Kong does not recognize that the sample has saved/changed by the Sample Editor and you need to reimport it. At least, that is what works for me. Yeah...

Re: drawing curves into autmation lanes
You mean bezier curve like drawing like in some other DAWs? Unfortunately not. You can draw either freehand or fixed aligned lines (CTRL+ALT on Windows) into an automation line. If you want some nice wave forms, there is a workaround: James Bernard created a Reason document that has some prepared au...

Re: MIDI control main mixer -- Keystation Pro-88 faders?
What Raveshaper said. You could try to use the generic MIDI Controller and MIDI Keyboard Basic codecs that ship with Reason and assign them to your Keystation. You find these in Reason -> Edit -> Preferences -> Control Surfaces -> Add -> Manufacturer: <Other> MIDI CCs are mapped by default so the fa...

Re: Live tips
I wrote a lua codec for Novation Launchpad to allow clip/scene launching from within Reason. I didn´t publish it yet since I have no time to document and support it properly but nevertheless want to post info here to show what is possible. It currently supports 127 scenes à 8 tracks and scene naviga...

Re: Extending Reason: A Discussion of LUA
Changing the behaviour of buttons or other controls is completely possible with lua based remote scripts. With MIDI controllers that support two way communication (e. g. like Novation Launchpad) you can also control how changes to a remotable item in Reason affect the midi controller, e. g. to light...

I don´t have Automap installed right now so please consider my answers with a grain of salt: can i map faders and knobs across several re's and can use them without having them in focus ? As far as I remember this is only possible by using the Automap MIDI port as input and output port when you setu...

Re: question to novation remote zero sl users
I own a zero sl but use it seldomly. IMHO the Reason support by Novation for this controller is not complete. It works with Reason and there are two approaches/modes to use it with Reason. You can either use it with Novation´s Automap software which needs to be separately installed and running. Ther...

Now it would be nice if the step record button in the custom display could be made remoteable to control it from a midi controller. I already checked but it is not in the list of remoteable items. Interesting enough, you can assign keyboard shortcuts to items in the custom display (see keyboard cont...

Re: CV gate that closes and opens tempo synced
Thanks Challism, will try this out. Right after writing my post I found another solution, which I´m testing right now. It´s one Thor where the sequencer is set to Run Mode "One-Shot" and 1 step. The step generates a velocity/gate signal of length 1 % which is then feed into Thor via "CV1 in" and the...

CV gate that closes and opens tempo synced
Hello CV-Experts, I´m scratching around my head for a while on how to do this: I want a gate/velocity signal where the gate signal closes and opens tempo synced after a button/control is pressed. The time between closing and reopening the gate should be as short as possible. Kind of a tempo synced t...
