Re: New Order Songs and Reason Live
Basically, cv input to gate (and 60 as the value of note) and a way of triggering the gate.. Here i've used select cv switch but you could use zvork sl-1. Many thanks! While it was not entirely what I was looking for, it brought me to additional solutions for my take. (I wanted to aviod having to r...

Re: New Order Songs and Reason Live
Using a combinator per song as a keyboard patch and have one reason project for an entire gig works very well. But what if I need sequences or longer samples as backing tracks? If I have a 4 minute audio track that I want to use as backing track, I can't play it from a keypress on my keyboard via co...

Re: Reason 10 announced!
As someone who has not yet bought a "big" modern plugin synth such as Serum/Spire/Expanse, the Europa synth is most welcome, if it is reliable and versatile. The three small instrument devices seem to be little more than sample players, but I am also ready to be positively surprised. I get that ther...

Just allowing Reason to be a rewire-master would be enough.

Midi notes should sound if <play>ed midway
Midi notes in the sequencer should sound if the cursor is placed and the sequencer is started within their note duration. Many DAWs bahave that way and it is really annoying that Reason doesn't, esp. when having pads with long notes etc. The way it is now, It often forces you to long lead times if y...

Re: Reason with tempo slaved
I used Reason as a sound module for live keyboards, midi clock from another notebook (cubase). I needed the clock for arps, delays, and step sequenced stuff. Worked flawlessly. I had no midi data in Reason's main sequencer; I would have considered that a bit risky if something went wrong. Possible t...

[Pop] Nestroy - Wild [Spark, Reason, Miniak]
With some friends we did a music video to one of our new songs. We formerly did Pop/Rock and now ventured to more synthy stuff.
Arturia Spark for drums, Akai Miniak and of course Reason (7) for synths.
Hope you enjoy! Cheers

Re: [Q]Adjust Grid/Tempo Lane to audio track
You can either record your taps as an audio track, disable stretch, then insert tempo changes to line up the bars to the recorded taps. Yes, thanks! That's indeed a possible workaround if I understand it correctly, using the recorded clicks as a visual reference for how the tempotrack should be aut...

Re: [Q]Adjust Grid/Tempo Lane to audio track
That is unfortunately not possible, as with stretch disabled the audio starts to jump around as soon as you try to tap the beat and "Background analysis" image showing etc.

Re: [Q]Adjust Grid/Tempo Lane to audio track
Thanks, the "manually change tempo in the automation lane" thing is the ugly thing. Can't use the Tap button because of the skipping and "drawing" is very fiddly and difficult to get musically right. I would need some kind of real time control like I found this tutorial for reaper http://www.soundon...

[Q]Adjust Grid/Tempo Lane to audio track
Hi, I'm stuck with a problem. I have a Song (Voice, Piano) where I want to re-record the piano part. There is quite a bit of rubato, ie tempo changes. When recording by ear, things won't get as tight as the original recording. I tried it to record midi, then manually moving the fine adjustments with...

Re: Panning [Help]
Those things you mention above CAN be done, the question is where do you put the knobs to do it correctly (and be 100% sure you avoid the "balance" issue from occurring). Anyway, I guess I'll never understand why things are the way they are with regards to the pan controls in Reason. How? When I se...

Re: Panning [Help]
How for example do you achieve the following: left channel panned center, right panned 75% right That should be Balance +64 (75%), Width 64 (50%). But what really cannot be done - now that I think about it again - is: L center, R 100% right. Or can it? So I think it's right - and you're right, ther...

Re: Panning [Help]
Sadly, the 14:2 and Line mixer's pan controls are really "balance" controls, and there's no workaround when using them - a stereo source when panned to one side will silence the other. My experience is very limited, but all mixers I have seen behave this way on stereo channels . The pan knob is (ho...

Re: [Thor] LFO key sync / retrigger, need help
I should stop researching this
And here's the difference between LFO1 and 2 in Thor: LFO2 will never reset. with LFO1 only the 2nd note will reset(!), others will not (never going back to a note on keyboard, always release previous after next press).

Re: [Thor] LFO key sync / retrigger, need help
I just read you post again, Benedict, I think; not even the second note resets the LFO in Thor.
This. These little things could make a world of difference in a performance.

Re: [Thor] LFO key sync / retrigger, need help
[Edit @ Selig] Thank you. However that wasn't exactly my issue. I am aware of the basic functionallity. Meanwhile I have figured out (at least I think) that: Thors LFO does not reset on keypress at all when playing legato (ie next note on before previous off) if keysynced. It only resets when all no...

Re: [Thor] LFO key sync / retrigger, need help
That's what I did, and it works as intended. (In the pic above, LittleLFO connected on the back to Filter1) I just want to know how Thor's LFO works, and why it's different.
Keysync works obviously not the same way. Thor's LFO cycle does not start at the same point every note?

Re: [Thor] LFO key sync / retrigger, need help
LFO2 behaves the same. [Edit: no eventually not the same, but not how I want it. Can't test further now] With Little LFO it behaves the way I want it, as shown in this image of the devices: http://postimg.org/image/kn1txc6fh/ I tried to draw, what I want, the LFO starting always at the same point. !...

Re: [Thor] LFO key sync / retrigger, need help
http://postimg.org/image/5fqkv675v/ (patch just for demonstration) Just seeing the patch will not really help I presume, you have to try it out. So to summarize: - I want to play monophonic legato - I want the LFO to reset with every note Right now it often doesn't reset, which sounds like a "slow a...

[Thor] LFO key sync / retrigger, need help
Hi, There is something I do not understand how it works or if it works the way I want it to. I would like to make a monophonic sound - for example a wobble bass - that restarts its LFO with keypress. (for example for syncopated lines) LFO Key Sync On Keyboard Mode Mono Retrigger (Mod LFO -> Filter F...
