Re: VST in reason, effects on the rack extension market?
Rack Extensions is a unique format to Reason and it still have one thing that VST doesn't: 100% freedom for the developer to create patching options on the back. Now that Reason will support VST, more VST developers will keep an eye on Reason and discover what a unique format Rack Extension is. Bot...

Re: REASON gets VST !!!!!!
Ok, fair enough. I guess only time will tell in the end. Maybe i'm wrong. Obviously, i already was wrong that Reason will never support VST. I can only explain this move with the new owners though. Don't think PH would have made such bold move, ever.

Re: REASON gets VST !!!!!!
See, any VST host out there is light years ahead in terms of implementation of VST, and functionality. What made Reason special was the in the box approach, and, especially, the modular capabilities when you turn the rack. Implementing VST robs Reason of all that speciality, and leaves the sequencer...

Re: REASON gets VST !!!!!!
Why should the user base of Reason increase with VST-support? I doubt anyone would drop Logic, Cubase etc, and get into Reason instead?!? That's what i'm wondering too. Who would leave his VST host for Reason? Reason would have to have something special, and VST's don't work with Reason's routing p...

Before they implement that, they surely might just implement VST support...stratatonic wrote:Could be bi-directional ReWire...Gardinski wrote:Having read a rough translation of the article via the oh-so-shaky medium of Google Translate...Reason is to get VST. Re: Respire video!
Nice. The mod matrix is very small and i want to see the Lady's back ;-) The mod matrix isn't small; it's just that all the other controls are still clown-sized like in the original pre-alpha teaser months ago.. I actually prefer the larger controls like it is. I know it feels big in Reason's rack,...

Re: Respire video!
I wonder if they make the fx available for use with other devices in Reason (if that is even possible). The reverb in Spire is one of the nicest, if not the nicest reverb i ever hear in a VSTi.

Re: RE: Re: Access Virus Ti2 with Reason?
I'm not sure, and I've not owned one myself. It might be worth demoing Antidote though. I'm not sure how close it is, but I think the name is a reference to the Virus. IMO, not close at all. But then, no soft synth really is. Remember that the Virus is a soft synth too, just one with a hard-wired D...

Re: PHASER
Works on pretty much anything. Gives lots of movement, which is good. Phaser is a really essential effect for me. Use it on static sounds too, without modulating the frequency, works great also for really rough bass sounds.

Re: Thor question....sylenth
I think the confusion over this originates from the mixing up of oscillators and voices.

Re: Thor question....sylenth
You mean per voice, not per oscillator. Apart from that, Thor has the multi oscillators, which can be 7 (i think) voices simultaneously for one oscillator, plus the other 2 oscillators, so, that's many oscillators per voice. What Thor lacks though is stereo oscillators. The multi oscillators are onl...

Re: closest thing to Nexus on Reason synths?
Good summary. :) Anyway, it might not have shimmered through, but, of course, everyone is free to use whatever does the job for him/her. E.g. i listened to a nice Trance track yesterday on Youtube, which was 100% made in Reason (by the member riemac here). There really wasn't much wrong with that. I...

Re: closest thing to Nexus on Reason synths?
I think that's a common misconception (which i read a gazillion times on KVR too, mostly by people who have no idea, no offense). People don't pick the popular stuff, because they want to sound like someone else, but because it is quality for the thing they're doing. I don't think it's a misconcept...

Re: closest thing to Nexus on Reason synths?
There is a lot of cross-over I believe. The drums especially and the sounds definitely have that quality about them. Still, people need to ask themselves "do I just want to sound like everybody else?". I think that's a common misconception (which i read a gazillion times on KVR too, mostly by peopl...

Re: closest thing to Nexus on Reason synths?
Using the Vengeance Sample Packs inside Reason's samplers: https://refx.com/samplepacks/ I'd guess that's as close as it gets. At least closer than generally recommending refills and soundfills. If Nexus would only be a bog-standard rompler, then that might be correct (still it won't have the same ...
