I know the feeling - part of that process for me is not researching gear as much because that leads to buying more stuff! Good luck, Bitwig has actually been a godsend for me because it doesn't have a store where I can buy more addons like Reason and Live.

The other great thing about the iPad is the battery lasts for a long time, longer than a laptop or other gear. The MPC live looks great sure, as is the OP1, but the iPad can do a lot more than both and is way cheaper. You won't regret getting one.

I would suggest getting an Ipad. Instead of doing one thing, you can download as many apps as you like and export the audio to Reason. The new Beatmaker 3 is coming on July 15th, which looks great as well.

Why work on a new sampler or combinator 2 when you can focus on these kind of REs?

You are missing quite a bit, but maybe it's not your style of synth?

You know how to sound really modern? Learn your tools inside and out and use them creatively. I'm sorry, technology (Reason) is not your problem. Reason is teeming with sounds, it's up to you to layer them and use them well.

I get that Serum is an amazing synthesizer, and so is Spire, but I think Expanse sounds better than both of them. Added to that it is a Reason only synth, not a VST that millions of other producers beat to death. Expanse is a masterpiece that really deserves its due.

As much as I like Reason's simplicity, the sequencer needs work. The zooming, lack of folders, and fixed track heights all need work. You only need to use Ableton for five minutes to realize how much better it could be.

I have been waiting for a new sampler for a long time in Reason, I hope they get it right if it's true.

I agree completely. Better zooming, the ability to have different and larger track sizes, folder tracks.. please! I keep going back to Ableton because the sequencer is so clunky.

Every time there is a Cubase update, I look over the fence to see what it's like, but in the end I love Reason and Ableton for how fun they are to make music with. If the Props updated the sampler and sequencer I wouldn't even need Ableton anymore.

Sometimes I really wonder how much the Props use Reason to make music.. if they did you would think updates to the sequencer and essential devices like the combinator would happen.

The Ableton Simpler and Sampler are the main reason that I use it alongside Reason. Nothing beats dragging and dropping samples into the window and being able to set loop points on the fly, and accurately. I would love for Reason to have a modern sampler, with filters that don't sound like cardboard...

Once again Exode, I have to commend you guys, this synth is a killer. Are you guys planning to release it as a VST? I really think this is up there with the best synths and would love to use it in other hosts.

I have a 24" computer monitor at the moment, I was wondering if any of you use a larger TV for a monitor and how well it works? I am getting a bit squinty as it is, would this help? I love Reason but my eyes aren't getting sharper as I get older
