Re: capricious inclination (piano and strings, well d50)
Nice work! You definitely improved upon it. I like the advice someone earlier gave that it's a good idea to walk away and let the track breathe and then come back with fresh ears. An interview I read (... I forget the artist...) where a musician worked on a song on and off for half a year before fin...

Re: Is Android the best phone OS?
What phone are you using? How old is it? How long are planning to keep it? Between Android and iOS, I prefer the latter, but I heard good things about PureOS. Eventually the lithium battery will degrade to a point where the phone will become unusable. Depending on the phone , a battery replacement i...

Re: Mysterious low-end rumble after update
Something similar happened to me. Do you have a midi controller hooked up? Get a MIDI monitor installed like MIDI Ox http://www.midiox.com/ for Windows or MIDI Monitor http://www.snoize.com/MIDIMonitor/ for macOS. You want to check if your controller is sending any messages, I’m guessing it could be...

Re: Will we ever see Reason ported to Linux - or would their CodeMeter Authentication software prevent this?
If RS clear up their docket of requests and fixes maybe. Bitwig and Reaper are small underdogs that aren’t beholden to anyone. RS is a small company too but they’re beholden to their venture capital masters. The other 2 companies are probably staffed by a lot of Linux enthusiasts so it’s ingrained i...

Re: Improvements for Take and Figure Reason users
There was a minor update to Figure last year, or was it the year before that? Just some compatibility update I think. It’s probably on someone’s plate when they have spare time. Sad, I used to have a lot of fun with it.

Re: Smart Toilets Will Use Anal Fingerprints
I can't wait for the impending news when the servers get hacked and the all those pictures are distributed. It'll be known as the world's largest anal leak for years to come. Also, misleading title! I was wondering, perhaps titillated, what an "anal fingerprint" is. Should be fingerprints AND photog...

Re: Reason update 11.3.7
 Whats that? I'm going to go ahead and speculate that Companion is actually a kick ass producer who comes to your studio/house/mother's basement and helps turn crappy loops into hits. That sounds like a fantastic direction they are taking! The first release will be buggy so the Companion wil...

Looks like a bunch of us we're fooled into prematurely update a ticking time bomb feature that won't activate ...

Re: Thinking of buying a new computer (Mac) for Reason, questions...
Specs seem good on your current Mac, are you able to upgrade to 16GB ram or put in a SSD a? Switching to a SSD alone would improve performance a great deal. Opening up an iMac isn’t for everyone though. I boot from an external USB3 SSD with improved performance. Not the same as having an internal an...

Re: New Mac Air $1199 [Lightness strikes again]
The current Airs have a fan but it’s not connected to the heat pipe so Apple gimped the Air’s cooling capacity. An i7 may not be feasible, and if you’re shelling extra cash you might as well get a Pro 13”. Not sure what the new Apple Silicons will be, could be an entry level MacBook with Airs and Pr...

Thank Delora Software for your great app! It's too bad you can no longer maintain it, but I understand your point of view. Here's hoping you can sell the code to another developer or release it to the community (if possible). Reason Studios would be a logical choice but considering that they have do...

Re: Reason on Linux?
I would love a version to run on Linux too, but I doubt it will happen any time soon. Your 7 points are valid, but mainly from a users perspective, and being super configurable may only appeal to a niche group. A far better appeal would be plug n play, no? But I get your angle. A for profit company ...

Jiggery Pokery made a nice refill for Thor called Blue Meanie. An early 2600 was a light blue colour called the “Blue Marvin” but mistakenly called “Blue Meanie”. What’s your guess? Re: Building a PC
Take a look, this Ryzen 3900X build is 2000$, but if you take out the graphics, more like 1500$. This is on par with the Intel i9 9900k or better. https://premiumbuilds.com/pc-builds/best-ryzen-9-3900x-itx-gaming-pc-build/ I think you need a graphics cards with to go with the 3900X as it is a CPU o...

Re: looking to upgrade computer, interface, and possibly daw
Piggybacking off your issues, I'm in a similar boat with my late 2013 iMac 21.5". I stupidly opted for the quad core with the 5200rpm hard drive instead of a SSD. Later on I got a Thunderbolt/USB3 external SSD and installed the OS and everything on that. It's been fine, although often it won't autom...
