Re: Spectra Song Challenge (Spectra is free)
LOL. Nice to hear people using Spectra. Had to laugh watching one of the videos, I’m an American who now lives permanently in Australia. Hope that clears that up. Loving the songs and sounds.

Spectra is now free
Hi everyone. I recently decided to stop operation of synthetech sound as a company and this has some implications for spectra in the App Store. I could have either removed spectra altogether or offered it for free. I chose the latter knowing that people who purchased it would potentially be upset bu...

Re: To RE developers: What's your own favorite RE that you've made?
I’ve only released one rack extension so I guess it would have to be Spectra. Without an ounce of exaggeration It was the hardest thing I’ve ever attempted and it almost got the better of me but I ended up slaying that dragon. Thanks to everyone involved in the testing and sound design. Dare mighty ...

Re: Using sounds as a filter
Wavetable filters would be interesting to see. or partial filters Spectra has filters which can be defined pretty free including partial envelopes. The filter sequences give the same result as a conceptual filter wavetable. If you define the filter sequence you can set up any mod source to move thr...

Re: Spectra €39 whole of August
I hoped for some fx too or a separate morph filter. A bit quiet around the dev atm and it took several years to finish the synth, so i don't expect too much in the next time. I had hoped to include a delay and reverb, but I ended up prioritising all of the sp3ctral modulation and morph sequencing a...

Re: Reason's kludgy code
Having used the RE SDK I can say with some level of certainty that the sdk was the most organised sdk I have ever used in 20 years of development. Not only was the code elegant and well organised but it was also extremely well documented. My impression from using their tools and the platform is that...

Re: Splitting a signal into hamonics
There is Spectra that can analyse waveforms. And there is Parsec that comes with predefined waveforms. Spectra can not analyse or make inharmonic overtones. Parsec can bend harmonics to inharmonics. That's where the fun begins  Yea, Spectra lacks some typical additive modifiers. But what...

Re: Splitting a signal into hamonics
A simple sine has only one harmonic. I guess what he is talking about using a specific harmonic. This requires a additive synth. Since i played around with Spectra the last time, i know you can really move or to be more priced emphasize a specific harmonic which can be automated or modulated. Its s...

Re: How hard can it be?
glad I stumbled across this topic; it’s illuminating... to those who have submitted, how long did it take to get a response from Props? I submitted the form on Saturday or Sunday, and haven’t gotten any sort of email yet. I’m sure I’m just being impatient. 😬 and I’m not looking to do anything audio...

Re: Spectra Additive ReSynthesizer is out!!!
Version 1.0.2 will be released in the next few days.
This version includes a fix for a defect introduced in 1.0.1 which would case Spectra to crash in some instances when analysing a drawn waveform.
Apologies for the inconvenience.
James

Re: Spectra Additive ReSynthesizer is out!!!
This synth is really fun. Just gambled around with the HEnv, which is similar to Parsec's "Partial Envelops", but you have more control. And with a touch of self-defined filter you come up with pretty funny sounds, just like this synthesised vowel stuff (added some fx to give it more character): nK...

Re: Spectra Additive ReSynthesizer is out!!!
Spectra version 1.0.1 should be available in the next day or so. This release includes 3 bug fixes. Special thanks to Andre Horst for his assistance. This build includes the following fixes/changes: Fixed a defect where the LFO’s were not re-triggering correctly when the LFO mode is MONO and the key...

Re: Spectra Additive ReSynthesizer is out!!!
I've found that 9 times out of 10 its down to long release times. I did make the conscious decision to keep the long (26 second) release times in knowing that some people would have performance issues. My thinking was that I wanted the user to have the option and to decide for themselves rather tha...

Re: Spectra Additive ReSynthesizer is out!!!
I think I tracked down my issues to the patches in question: The patches I'm drawn to have a beautiful, dreamlike sound... To achieve that without a built in reverb Navi did a great job using the impressive release times (That I think go up to 26s...). Unfortunately that becomes an issue on my syst...

So, song contest for this one? Would be great. I'm mostly asking at this moment so I can budget my time and trial period. Congrats on this labor of love mate. Hi teddymcw. I've decided not to have a song contest for Spectra. I know this is something of a Reasontalk tradition. I hope you aren't too ...

Re: Spectra Additive ReSynthesizer is out!!!
Everyone, I've discovered a bug in the Analyser when using (or trying to use) multiple analysis triggers. They aren't working correctly. I will be endeavouring to fix this over the weekend and to push out an update as soon as possible. I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Re: Spectra Additive ReSynthesizer is out!!!
What's the DSP hit of Spectra in a range between Subtractor and Expanse? I've noticed you've asked this a few times so I'll have a go at answering. Note I'm the developer but I'm not into marketing so I'm going to give it to you as straight as I can, but ymmv. The simple answer is yes. It is somewh...

Re: Spectra Additive ReSynthesizer is out!!!
But the video series that accompanies the release is so detailed & well made with every aspect covered – it’s like a lecture for Spectra! Has there ever been a more comprehensive & detailed video series to go with a synth? I don’t think so. Well done to the developer for taking the time to make the...

Re: Spectra Additive ReSynthesizer is out!!!
It has two morph targets, one of which can be sequenced across 10 spectra, the multi spectrum modulator which was used in the video was the "-Even" modulator which effectively reduces the even harmonics down by the amount knob. The multi modulators have too many variations to list here, i think ther...
