Try to open on other computer. Too me it sounds like a HD crash. It may be also drivers, antivir or malware. But i bet10 on HD. I change my HDs normaly after 2 years, especially if they are fast, that means if they rotate fast (>7000rpm).

Can you open the file in notepad or something? If it were my harddisc and it is older than 2 years, maybe makes weird noises, i quickly would Backup every thing to an external drive... If i use effekts to create a sound i have one or nore mixer in a combinator and use their sendeffekts. Often the same for a mix bus. In the master i rarely need more than something to create a room for the whole track. Too many different reverbs or echos just creates mud...
