Re: Recording via a mackie usb mixer

I found a solution on a question asked in a different forum, it said to download a driver called "asio4all" it's free and easy to find with a Google search. Worked straight away, the driver shows in the preferences and I can now record the signal from the mixer into reason.

Re: Recording via a mackie usb mixer

I've searched the mackie manual, the model is profx8. It states that no drivers are required, I've used it before while recording into sound forge and didn't have an issues.

Re: Recording via a mackie usb mixer

I've set up the preferences, it shows as "codec usb", and I get playback perfectly, it's just the audio input which isn't being recognised.

Hi, I'm setting up my studio again after a long break, I've had a custom PC built and I'm running reason 9. Re: Recording midi using a bass station 2

It worked! Thanks for the advice Carly, can't tell you how happy I was to see the notes appear on the first record after following your instructions, I've mapped the faders etc and can now record automation too.

Re: Recording midi using a bass station 2

In preferences, control surfaces, I selected add, chose novation, and selected the 25 note controller i think, I'm in work so can't check at the moment. It's odd why I can play the instrument perfectly but can't record.

Re: Recording midi using a bass station 2

Hi Carly, I've set it up as a control surface, it wouldn't auto detect but it is being recognised. I've just tried recording using the function to play the notes on the computer keyboards using numbers and letters, and notes record fine. I've also tried using a midi to usb cable and the same problem...

Recording midi using a bass station 2

I'm rebuilding my studio after a long break from reason, I've bought reason 9 and have also bought a novation bass station 2. I was hoping to use this as a midi keyboard. I've connected the bs2 to my PC via usb and I can play instruments in reason using it, the pitch controls etc move on the screen ...
