Re: Is it me or....
Back to the main topic, I've been in a slump following the completion of a couple projects, but learning all the new features in going from 6.5>9 is giving me a great excuse to boot up Reason and start making stuff again.

Re: The IR thread
Hey I wasn't sure if this was a good place to ask. I want to record my first IRs, and I think I understand the basics, but still wanted to clear up a couple things: 1. I understand that sine wave sweeps need to be deconvolved and white noise (balloon, claps) do not (although their initial attack mus...

Re: Strange quirk I've noticed with Pulveriser
Yeah that default boost is a bit annoying for managing gain staging. Not that it's a big hassle to turn it down but I forget, and when I'm using Pulveriser just for color I sometimes get tricked into thinking I'm liking the color when I'm really liking the volume boost. Sometimes I forget that the f...

Re: Strange quirk I've noticed with Pulveriser
At first I was thinking that the Squash's gain reduction is active even with at 0%, but if that's the case it should be 6dB difference, not 10dB right? Moreover, if it's always active, then it wouldn't matter in what order it's routed, it would always reduce gain. Unless it only reduces gain in cert...

Re: Randomizing ticks without quantizing to meter?
That's a great idea, thank you! I've only played around with the groove mixer once or twice, so I'll give it a shot and report back.
If that doesn't work, the minimum quant should work close enough, if not ideal.

Re: Reason's secrets - there when you're ready
Totally. I used to think of it as a supplemental program that has some decent synths and sample sets. When I got the version with Combis and started learning how to use CV and signal flow better, it opened up whole worlds of sound design for me. I don't know how they managed to make a program with s...

Randomizing ticks without quantizing to meter?
Hi, I've been using Reason for a few years, just upgraded from 6.5 to 9 and am having a cool time. You know how in the MIDI quantizing tool you can add a certain amount of randomized ticks? Is it possible to do that randomization without having to quantize by 1/4, 1/8, etc? I feel like it must be an...
