Re: If I own Bitley's Way Beyond Fairlight, does that mean I also have the contents of his other Fairlight refills?
Yes, it's a 5 Gb folder before packing. This should be clearly stated on the site. Nothing about the refill is "only", hehe. In fact I just uploaded a new bonus patch for you all, it's called "I Am The Velocity", inspired by Benny Andersson & Abba. If you by any chance are a WBF R2 customer without...

Re: one question about the mixdown process
How loud a component is in the final mix is entirely a matter of taste based on the impression you want to give, the mood you want to set, the story you want to tell. As an example when I released this track I got comments that the drums weren't loud enough and even dropped out when played quietly ...

one question about the mixdown process
hi everyone  i love this forum so much. thanks to wonderful advice from the people here i have learned about setting individual tracks and groups etc to peak at -12dbfs (sorry if that is not the correct unit) using the selig gain which has been great for me. i did not know this previously...

Thanks! works great, thanks guys great methods! Good to see that you're getting somewhere. You still gotta read the manual though!! :P  sir while i do agree with you i had to say that in this day and age, more and more we dont go for manuals, its too slow, we just jump onto google or forum...

Re: is Recycle worth it? do you use it?
Recycle started off as a stand alone RX editor way before Reason had slicing. IMO if you really get into slicing up RX files you can get a lot deeper into it in Recycle than in Reason. this is absolutely true and correct. i love the recycle and find it a lot less clunky than i find the reason audio...

Re: Record vocal while monitoring with effects, with no latency
Hi, you can do a mix of direct monitoring with reason monitoring. In your audio card, set the correct mixer levels (careful with gain staging at the pre-amp), to have as much of the vocal as you wish. In reason, create an audio track and define the mic channel as the channel for that track. Add a r...

Re: Record vocal while monitoring with effects, with no latency
Tons of vocalists like a little bit of reverb added to their headphone mix while they're singing. Came across this article, the OP might find it useful. http://therecordingrevolution.com/2012/09/24/how-to-record-zero-latency-vocals-with-reverb/ this is long time ago lol but i just want to say thank...

Nice and straightforward, I was just wondering about this more the other night. Could you include a patch as well possibly? James what patch do you need? I am using REs for this so it's tricky hi marco this was a really great tutorial for me - it was easy to understand your guide and i thank you fo...

Red Queen has All Pass filters too ;) https://shop.propellerheads.se/product/red-queen-10-band-3-mode-equalizer/ Noted, and apologies for not knowing this (and yet posting away anyway)! bought that 20 dollar filter that has an all pass mode, honestly was disappointed, you can't even hear or notice ...

Re: is there a way to sample the return FX from a 14:2 mixer
Remember that you can send the final output of these fx to a mix channel and then turn on the rec source button in the rack view version of the vu meter to capture the output to audio track. You just have to choose the fx mix channel's output as the audio track input. hi raveshaper this sounds like...

Re: is there a way to sample the return FX from a 14:2 mixer
Run all of the FX return signals (i.e., the outputs of the FX units themselves) into Spider Audio Splitters. Then, from each of those splitters, one branch goes back into the 14:2 mixer returns, and another goes into the channel inputs of a new 6:2 or 14:2 mixer. Adjust the channel levels on the ne...

... If I'm understanding correctly, rather than returning the sends back to the same 14:2 mixer, send then back to a new 14:2 mixer and then take the output from that to the sample in. thank you for trying to help carlypoohbear. i can now post the pic of the rack, this is it: http://i63.tinypic.com...

Re: is there a way to sample the return FX from a 14:2 mixer
Can you link to the tutorial video you saw? That would help to get a sense of the kind of process you're talking about. When you say "patch that has 14:2 mixer with alligators and other RE in it for inserts"... did you really mean inserts , or did you mean sends? In other words, it sounds like the ...

is there a way to sample the return FX from a 14:2 mixer
hello to all my reason freinds :D i watch a tute recently by the props which showed me a cool way to "sample" return fx from a SSL using "sample in" routing from the SSL and control room outs (to monitor just the fx). i like this way and think it would be cool. my question is, if i have patch that h...

Re: one thing with using blocks is a problem
I second Selig's statement about Opcode Vision and the way it handled pattern based sequencing. That was in the 90s and it still wrks better than many sequencers today. By (works better) I meant was more versatile and had more sequencer functionality than Reason does today with the exception of the...

Re: how to create syncopated snare/toms with kong
Hi MC I think the first thing to consider is what a 'real' drummer would be doing, and then to play/program those timings and feels into the Seq. To get that, read about what syncopation and ghost hits are and start trying them in the Main Seq. To loosen timing, don't forget the Groove function - j...

how to create syncopated snare/toms with kong

tobypearce, what OS are you running?
