Re: "Pump" is back in the shop
I was annoyed with myself that I didn't get this before it disappeared, although the envelope designers in Sweeper etc took the edge off - in a RRP context it would/will be a brilliant tool. Thanks to the devs for this!

Re: Native Instruments new branding?
Uhhhhh it's actually really CLEVER, because if you bothered to LOOK you'd see the components are a lowercase n and a capital I, which stand for native Instruments, but combined TOGETHER they form a capital N which stands for Native again, redundantly. None of you guys are as clever as the designer w...

Re: Upgrading to a Macbook Pro
I think 16GB will be fine. I think 8GB is a foolish amount, with any kind of future proofing in mind, and I don't think Apple should offer it. I'll probably go for 32GB when I eventually try a Mac. I think I'd be fine with 16GB, but I'm used to having 32GB and I might suddenly get into making videos...

TD is the BK Butler Tube Driver,
XT may be the Mesa Boogie V-Twin, or a Hughes & Kettner preamp pedal,
No idea about the HB.

Re: Beyond Europa?
There was an early software synth back around 2000, can’t remember the name. But it had a simple feature I wish more softsynths had. And that was a list of modules and an unlimited (as far as I ever found) number/combination of modules. So you could build a 10 oscillator synth, or have 12 LFOs and ...

Re: Ableton Push 3 - STANDALONE ABLETON LIVE!
The product life of Push 2 has been so long that I have some hope of Ableton designing this to last as long, or even longer. Push 2 remains a high quality piece of gear (apart from the deteriorating rubberised plastic, which I'm glad to see Ableton have abandoned for Push 3.) RE audio editing on Pus...

Re: Ableton Push 3 - STANDALONE ABLETON LIVE!
I think the battery is secondarily for doing a bit of off-the-grid sketching, and primarily basically a UPS so that a power lead coming out on stage isn't a disaster. It's very expensive, but I think it's justified when you consider all of the individual things it is - hardware sampler, MIDI and CV ...

Re: Reveal Sound - SPIRE updated to 1.5.15
ReSpire more like it. Spire VST gets regular point updates every year. Having had a look at the change log of the VST over the last 5 years, I stand by "sort of abandonware, but not". The the meatiest things that have happened since 2018 are drag & drop modulation (like every other modern synth) an...

I made my choices, but Invaders Must Die was a huge album for me at the time. In my view it was a second high point for them.
I also think Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned is unfairly maligned. (The Way It Is! Spitfire!)

Re: The new Instrument, "Objekt" is coming in May
It'll be 99. You mount it in the rack with rubber washers and wooden blocks and you have to drill into the plastic case. The back has a rubber foot along the top for its more usual desktop operation, but there's no rubber foot along the bottom edge: Does the mod matrix just rest directly on the desk...

Re: PX1 Dual FM Synth in the shop: New DX7/DX1 emulation, PX7 alternative
It seems likely this is PX7, but there's no confirmation. PX7 was always a bit of a gammy synth to program, (but easier than a DX7!) and I expect most of us who got it mainly used it as a preset player for Kosh's 30k collection: https://koshdukaimusicreason.blogspot.com/2015/01/px7-200k-collection-s...

Cherry Audio are on the list, along with Excite Audio and Positive Grid, of plugins with 200MB+ downloads for a plugin. Flat no. No need for it.

Re: Another reason for you to hate Waves
My perception is that Waves don't enjoy the same position within producing and engineering that they once did. My guess is that their plugins tend to be used by people who have used their plugins for a long time, and they're not attracting new users like they did when they were the first plugin comp...

Thanks! Big fan of Unfiltered Audio's weird work, and been meaning to add Sandman Pro to the delay collection for a long time. Now I have it for free!
Their plugins Dent 2 and SpecOps are really excellent, and I use them all the time. They're also on sale for pocket money.
