Re: T2ON Sale & RE Pre-Announce
I'm mostly in Ableton these days. Today I was wishing I had a comb filter, and then I remembered I DO have a comb filter! Turn2On's comb filter RE! Busted out the RRP... The T2ON comb filter is such a good device. SO much better than the kHs one. I know it's old, but well done, fellas! Try a dash of...

Exponential's R2 and Phoenixverb have both been offered at giveaway prices of late. I got them both, as the reverb nerd that I am.

I still have no desire to go back to those wild skeumorphic GUIs. And LOL at that VST note. Fascinated to learn what the story is here.

Re: Audio interface : Firewire pcie ( chipset ) vs usb port ( cpu ). Which will give lower latency ?
Is this maybe overcomplicating things? There are lists comparing the latencies of every interface on the market. If latency is the value under scrutiny, it might be best just to look at one of those lists, and see which connection correlates most with the lower latencies. But from what I remember la...

Timestretching, slice mode, repitching, pre-set recording lengths. It's a great update. I bought my Digitakt when it only had one LFO per track! Such a great little noise mangler.

Re: Zoom UAC-232 32-Bit Float Interface
I think the point is that there are two (at least) SNRs and dynamic ranges, which are seamlessly moved between depending on the scale of the incoming wave. That would mean that the SNR of the file is dynamically variable, and very big. I don't know the technology, but it could even be that sometimes...

Re: Image Line Acquires UVI
I assume FL enjoys an extreme presence and brand recognition within hip-hop and rap production online spaces, and as noted above, there are so many teenage beginners in those genres that FL has a steady turnover of new users to sustain it. (No shade either to FL - which I have no doubt is the perfec...

Re: Endless Smile - recreating in Combinator. Can you do it?
Necrothreading FTW! So, I tinkered with Aeox's patch, added a few bells and whistles, modified the devices and stuff, and made an, I think, usable Endless Smile patch that sounds, again, I think, pretty decent). *C2 required for this one* (see attached file) You have to have a few extra RE's...

Re: Learning Thor Synthesizer
I'm gonna go against the grain here and say go for Europa instead of Thor. Imo Europa is more user friendly. It just looks cleaner and is easier to understand. Thor looks like a mess. Europa has the basics but it also has depth and lots of options too. It's more modern sounding too. If you're divin...

Re: Is there utility in Reason 12 to make specific range mono?
But like many things that are repeated without context, folks don’t remember the problem they only remember the solution. So we tend to apply the same solutions even after the problem no longer exists, like with this example, or like recording “hot” to avoid noise on analog tape and still recording...

All the U-He synths are the absolute top of the game, both in sound and interface. They're all worth it, and we only "need" stock DAW synths
Antidote remains one of the best REs ever made.

Re: Looking to buy next MacBook help!!!
More CPU power is the key thing for running many virtual instruments and effects at the same time. Remember you're thinking not only about today's plugins, but the plugins in 5 years' time. An upgrade from the basic RAM spec is a safe bet generally, but especially if you use sample-based instruments...

Re: moog model d reissue/remake?...got a spare kidney?
You'd think Moog would just keep the D in continuous production.
And that they'd make an SMD version with a steel-and-plastic chassis, like the Grandmother, and sell it for ~$1200 all day long as fast as they could build them. I won't buy a Boog but I would buy a Moog D-lite.

Re: Does Reason 12 run on the new Mac Air M2 (2022) laptop?
M2 is an iteration of M1, so if it runs on M1 it'll run on M2. If you Google with M1 in your search you'll get plenty of answers.

Re: Sticky Ableton Push 2
I have a lot of Arturia gear, which has the adhesive disease. I used talcum powder on the sticky surfaces, tried not to put it into the knobs or sliders. It appears to heal or slow down the process but creates a "vintage look" on the treated areas (which I actually like). I have a 2nd hand Microbru...

Sticky Ableton Push 2
Hello! My Push 2 has reached the stage in its life where all the rubberised plastic edges have turned into horrible dust-enriched glue. Because apparently product designers still think rubberised plastic is cool and nobody has beaten them up for it. I've just used some isopropyl alcohol and a cloth ...

Re: Zebra Legacy coming Nov 15 and Zebra3 is getting closer
I think the €99 is worth it just for Dark Zebra. That's the price of just Dark Zebra by itself today. It is an incredible sound design accomplishment and a piece of synth/film history—owning the synth and its presets created by Howards Scarr and Hans Zimmer for the Dark Knight series. Yeah, it's in...
