Re: (Electro DreamRock) MrFigg & diminished - Sleep Deprivation
damn, fellas, this is excellent. reminds me a lot of some of John Frusciante's solo work. he's one of my favorite guitarists of all time, which is to say this is really, really good stuff!

Re: (Deep minimal House) Phillip O - Med lyset av (feat. MrFigg)
nice work! finally got to hear a bit of MrFigg's guitar work (which is very tasty, I must say), and in a nice, chill tune, to boot. love the bassline/tone--reminds me a bit of something Fischerspooner might've done. you'll have to forgive the reference, as I don't have a lot else to pull from that I...

Re: is music production for us ?
do you just not enjoy the production aspect? or do you actively dislike the production side of things? if it's indifference (feeling like 'this is okay, but I could be doing other stuff'), then I'd say stick with it until you're comfortable on the production side. you very well may come to like it. ...

Re: Am I the only one who doesn’t write, arrange, produce, mix, master in a specific order?
I think good music was made years ago and is still made today. I hear good music every day on here, the radio, tv etc. The thing for me is that this is so subjective which is a positive imo. What is good for me can be rubbish for someone else and vice versa. The only thing I would say is that good ...

Re: Am I the only one who doesn’t write, arrange, produce, mix, master in a specific order?
unequivocally false. music predates music theory. Well, sure, in theory. (See what I did there?) But in practice it depends on what you want to do. I know almost no theory and even I know that in order to be able to write in a group setting there needs to be a common means of communication. But I c...

anyone who sets a plugin/processing mix knob to anything other than 0% or 100% uses parallel processing.

Re: Am I the only one who doesn’t write, arrange, produce, mix, master in a specific order?
unequivocally false. music predates music theory. One thing theory can provide is a common language for documenting music. … Theory is based on analysis, which requires music to exists first before it can be analyzed. Music predates theory indeed. ;) yep, exactly. theory is an incredibly useful too...

Re: Am I the only one who doesn’t write, arrange, produce, mix, master in a specific order?
The down side is you now have to wear ALL the hats and be good at every job along the way. For me, this was the attraction. same here. I grew up screwing around with computers and my dad was a painter and musician, so the technical side always had a great pull on me. it took me literally decades to...

The technology informs the workflow in most cases in my experience. including the cost-effectiveness of that technology...back when recording meant you had to go into a recording studio, pay for the use of the space, pay for the expertise of an engineer, etc. you didn't have the luxury of spending ...

I'm still checking it daily. I know it's growing slowly and adding features... slowly. Yeah, I was kind of hoping that there would be steady additions of features, but it’s stalled at the moment. Hoping some of the big missing pieces are filled in soon. I’ve missed the daily checkin with people I l...

Re: What do you like most about your own music?
love this topic! for me, it’s a few things. first, variety. I like that my music reflects a wide range of moods and feelings, sometimes within the same song. secondly, interplay. the end result can be very complex overall, but any one part is usually very simple. I love what I’ve been able to accomp...

Re: Neural-Ink (post-downtempo/rock/idk)
I wrote a song about conspiracy theories. 🙃 Amazing, really blown away by it. It's insane and tidy at the same time. The merging of the gritty synth bass is just great, the way it plays next to that big pluck is so nice, I wanted to hear more of it or have it turned into a riff and repeated I liked...

Re: scale selection for pitch correction
Cubase has so many quality of life features and things I didn’t know I needed that it’s become one of only two DAWs that I don’t actively loathe doing vocal pitch editing in. and it sounds better than any other pitch correction (including/especially Melodyne, which is hella overrated).

Threads would need to offer me something compelling of its own that overcomes its guilt-by-association-with-Zuck. Ruining a $44B purchase by Musk is compelling enough to me. 😆 for sure. the compelling thing about the major social media players (Threads/Facebook/Instagram/Twitter) is their reach. Ma...

it's very similar--just text/discussion-focused instead of image/video. at this point, it's basically Twitter-lite...needs some features (like to be able to search by topic instead of just users), but I think at this early stage the main selling-point is it's not overflowing with toxic garbage the ...
