Good music
Thanks for The War of Art tip Jagwah. I'm not usually into books like this but I'm going to give this one a crack as it sounds relevant to my main passion (music) and also my work life (report writing)

Reason 8.2 Update is Available!
The way I see it.
Anti-R8ers shouldn't insinuate Pro-R8ers are pathetic.
And Pro-R8ers shouldn't call anti-R8ers miserable humourless count.
With those ground rules in place, how can we go wrong

Reason 8.2 Update is Available!
But this is what you said classichitz
"I mean really, going ga ga for more colors and auto updates kinda borders on pathetic from where I'm standing"
It's a little bit condescending to be fair.

Yeah, it is a bit misleading and I wondered the same before pressing download. It didn't download the soundbanks for me. The update process was pretty quick in the end.

Dunno if it's just me, but so often the bugs that make it through in Reason releases are so obscure and irrelevant to how I use the programme that I never give them a second thought when updating. iOS is a bit different. They release updates with some pretty annoying bugs that really piss me off. I ...

ABL3 Teasers and Rack Extension Announcement!
On a side note, I've never really understood the point in software devices with built in sequencers. Every time I play around with Thor or Redrum's sequencer, I always end up just using Reason's sequencer because making changes and variations on a pattern is simply a matter of clicking on a note an...

Do you think we over-reacted?
Good stuff. I was personally interested to know this given how smooth the transition was. Guess everyone just actually wanted something better and that starts with attitude and respect. I'm sure there will be heated moments at times, but with a sprinkling of moderation, she'll be right mate.

Do you think we over-reacted?
A company that has to moderate its own forum is stuck between a rock and a hard place. Censorship v anarchy. PH went with anarchy, they're liberal in Sweden aren't they? But worst of all, imagine if good folk like Giles were accepted to moderate the PH forum and he had to ban someone. I bet some sma...

Why do you use OctoRex?
I use OctoRex in every track. Percussion and hats mainly and mostly just filler sounds. I also use OctoRex with a percussion Rex file to drive a synth and vocoder in a dub techno patch, can result in some nice techy sounds to fill the space. I'd like to know more unique ways to use OctoRex like this...

Do you think we over-reacted?
I was a little underwhelmed but bought R8. I wasn't as pumped prior to the release as I was prior to the R7 release. I think R8 wasn't an inspirational release because it only gave 'functional' improvements. Drag and drop hardly makes my tracks sound better. There weren't the benefits I got with R7 ...

I have them all except the De-esser. I have assumed the De-esser is mainly used on vocals, am I right in assuming this?

Selig Audio Entire Product Line 50% off!!!
Just bought Leveller, thanks Selig Audio. I don't work with recorded vocals so I'm unsure about the De-esser. Do people use Selig De-esser for taking the edge off hi-hats and such things? There's a de-esser in the factory bank I recall so is it better to just use that for such a limited use? I've tr...

REs that are worth EVERY PENNY spent.
Bought Antidote not so long ago but never seem to use it. I think it's the patches that sound a bit too trancey. Every now and then I have a play with it but I need to give it more attention and get inside its head.

What!!!!! Another Reverb Unit RE
There's certainly room (pun intended) for a nice sounding 480 style algo. verb in the Rack. I shall be giving it a thick coat of looking at when it arrives for sure. I knew this guy once that entered a pun competition. He sent in ten puns to see if any would win. No pun in ten did. More the merrier...

Carve is in the Shop
Thanks ScuzzyEye and jappe for the input. I'll do some more checks tonight and make a file to send to Ochen. The error happens using 3x RP REs and Carve. Not sure if there's some incompatibility there?

Ok, just did some tests. It only happens when I quit out of Reason and then log back in. It doesn't happen if I close a project and then reopen it without quitting Reason. I tried routing Thru on the second carve (in series) straight into the mixer (bypassing combinator) and I still get the error. I...

Jappe, when I get the error message, I can still open the project with the only thing being that the thru out is disconnected. I originally used a spider to split a single kick signal to feed into the Ref inputs of two carves on predator and subboombass. Someone said that Ref and Thru act just like ...

Carve is in the Shop
Anyone else getting an error when opening projects with carve in it? I get an error message and the carve thru output is disconnected when I open the project. In the project, I had punch feeding the carve and predator and subboombass freqs were being dipped. I've sent an email to Ochen K via his web...

Agree Joey, it's useful when REs do this. Selig Gain is a good example. Ammo 100LA from JP is another good one that I use a lot.

Penny dropped, just run output from THRU into the next Carve in series and then feed that back to the kick to complete the kick circuit rather than use spiders. Easier way to skin the cat. Sorry cat.

Thanks eusti and Zero01101, just wanted to make sure and you've confirmed it. Looking forward to the update as I'm also operating around the 5-7% amount level and I also get what Last Alternative just mentioned, the bass is either there or it aint!
