Re: Reason won't load since update
A couple ideas... You might want to try using a different authorization method. Like if you're using machine authorization, try deauthorizing the machine and using internet authorization. Or vice versa. Also, if you have another DAW, it might be worth trying to load the rack plugin. If that works, t...

Re: Anybody use/ like Layers
I think Pink Noise only did the first Layers, not Wave Edition. Or at least their logo is only on the back of the first one.

They have some nice sounds, but programming them would be a lot less tedious if you could copy/paste between the layers.

Re: How to simplify automation (Inspiral)?
The 12 steps could be accomplished by mapping each scale to a note using the Combinator with Key as Source and restricting the "Source Range" to four notes on each device.
But the tricky part would be turning the other players off when the note is triggered. I'm not sure there's an easy way.

I think you’re supposed to run the installer from their website to get the proper remote codecs:

Re: default gain setting is different between mix channel faders and volume knobs?
The controls don't cover exactly the same range, and it's not straightforward to convert between them. The maximum setting on the SSL is louder for instance.
But 100 on the 14:2 is the same as 734 on the SSL. That's the one thing you can be sure of.

Re: R12, 16 months on, ... how are you all finding it?
I am very curious here. I have a perpetual licence for reason 12, i am on latest version, my computer is the one registered for both reason and the REs and yet, when i am loading a song in bitwig, all the instances of RRP generate a prompt with the need to be connected to internet. It is super anno...

Re: Roland System 8 Help: Only keys work, no knobs, sliders etc
From my testing in the past, I've found Reason only sends note and performance data (mod wheel, etc.) to VSTs. It doesn't send other CC data. This means features on some plugins like built-in MIDI learn don't work. You have to use Remote instead.

Re: Why does the sequencer change grid resolution at random?
There are two different snap settings in the Sequencer: One for editing MIDI and one for everything else. Even if you stay in Edit Mode it will switch between the two settings depending on what you're doing.

Are you using spreadsheet software, not a text editor?
That's how they're intended to be edited, as they're tab-delimited files.

Re: VST2 vs VST3. Which one is better?
Hosts are going to start dropping VST2 support at some point. Cubase has already done so for M1 native and will totally drop it next year. As other hosts do the same, plugin developers will inevitably follow suit. So I'd recommend VST3 if you want to be able to load your projects in a few years wit...

Re: What grinds my gears (and possible solutions)
If you use a single monitor, good luck using a VST pop up window when you have undocked your rack. The VST is tied to the specifically rack and not to RS, so when you select the VST to "stay on top" the VST window will still disappear the moment you touch the sequencer or Mixer. That doesn't happen...

Re: Reason 12 F***** autosave
Reason would first need non-blocking save for autosave to be pleasant. Saving can take quite a while, especially with heavy NN-XT patches. For me personally I wouldn't want Reason to autosave. Sometimes I make changes I don't want to keep. But still, having the option to do so would probably be a go...

CodeMeter is available for Linux, so I don’t think that would prevent it. The bigger question is whether the demand exists to justify the development and support costs.

The gap is very much intentional, because Combinators can now be placed inside mix channel inserts.
In the rack plugin, there is no gap, because there are no mix channels.

Re: Creating a momentary switch with remote keyboard
Here's one method. As an example, this will open Europa's filter while C0 is held: - Add RPG-8 to the Combinator. Set its Velocity knob to Fixed 127 and turn the Arpeggiator off. - Using the Combinator programmer, restrict the range of RPG-8 to just C0 and Europa's range to C#0 to G8. - Hook the RPG...
