Re: Reason 11 updated: broken file associations in windows 10
Have you guys checked with regedit if there's entries like these on your Registry: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Reason.repatch\DefaultIcon and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Reason.repatch\DefaultIcon Using the .repatch extension as an example, but all extensions should be close together in the key tree, ...

Re: Reason 11 and Balance as Ignition Key
So... Balance is not dead, right? Because... it's still working. Still makes noises. What's dead is its "friendship" relation with Authorizer that, suddenly is saying "I don't know this horse. It's 'dead to me'" which is kinda harsh on the Authorizer's part and is making Balance quite sad. ...and to...

Re: Reason 11 and Balance as Ignition Key
A dead-anything is something that's dead. Doesn't work. Nah, a dead product can refer to a product that is no longer made and supported. You're confusing a busted/broken Balance with the term "dead". :D #vernacular_wars nah... I can't use a "dead" product. ...and despite the feeling of abandonment ...

Re: Reason 11 and Balance as Ignition Key
A dead product *IS* an abandoned product. Discontinued. No longer made, sold, or supported by the original sole manufacturer. ;) But the manual discovery is interesting. A dead-anything is something that's dead. Doesn't work. If a person is abandoned on an desert island... I guess the person could ...

Re: Reason 11 and Balance as Ignition Key
LOL. I said it was "dead" to poke fun @ Enoch since he said Balance was dead a million times in this thread. The moment I say it, I get corrected. Sometimes, you just can't win. lol :puf_wink: "Hey, Balance... are you dead?" **connects to PC **lights up **makes sound "Welp... you look very undead t...

Re: Reason 11 and Balance as Ignition Key
and don't forget its a "dead product" No, it's not dead. It's just an abandoned product by the company that made and sold it. It would be dead if it suddenly stopped working. ...imagine if it had a remote kill switch, like some software have, hmmm... like... oh, the Authorization part of it, now th...

Re: BeatStep Pro and Reason
I didn't say it "could only record on a track". If you want to map the BSP's step buttons to the step buttons of ReDrum, you can as well, through Reason's Remote Override or with some patience you can make your own Remote Map, etc... It'll be DIY, there's nothing already done with the specifics you ...

Re: BeatStep Pro and Reason
Can you pair BSP's sequencer pads to Redrum's? Using it in a controller mode and recording through Reason.. Yes, just be sure to know or set the BSP's MIDI Channels and choose the equivalent Codec with the matching MIDI Channel. Example: I've Seq 1 on Ch.1, Seq 2 on Ch.2, Control Mode on Ch.3 and D...

Re: Arturia MicroFreak
I did see someone say you can power it with a USB power brick...if you don't mind doing that. Yes, it can be USB powered (which includes mobile phone powerbricks, etc), besides the 12V power jack :) btw, I actually prefer using an external (easily interchangeable) USB power source instead of AA bat...

Re: Arturia MicroFreak
Funnily enough, this digital "techy" sound is what everyone was criticizing about the M-Audio Venom, which went for $200ish. Back then everyone was screaming for "analog warmth", I guess that demand is satisfied now. Agreed, they are different beasts with different feature sets and that Vyzex Venom...

Re: BeatStep Pro and Reason
as you may suspect, I own a BeatStep Pro so naturally I'll end up doing a specific Remote Codec+Map for it when I find the time. It'll supersede this solution with the generic multi-channel Codec Hi, have you ever gotten around to creating this dedicated Codec+Map? Cheers I ended up using my generi...

Re: Propellerhead Partners with MIND Music Labs For Rack Extension Hardware Integration
If you're not into (digital instruments/effects) hardware, this doesn't apply to you. That's the thing. I am, but - at least in a hybrid computer+hardware setup - I don't see a point. Why would I want my hardware synth to sound like Parsec, if I can get that from Reason running on my PC. I'd rather...

Re: Propellerhead Partners with MIND Music Labs For Rack Extension Hardware Integration
Good to see that happening, but somehow I'm not THAT excited. I see nothing appealing in being able to run Expanse or Parsec on some Raspberry Pi, mobile device or a general-purpose "synth" (I guess like Roland's System-1?). The way they describe ELK is that it's designed for "embedded systems" (an...

To make that possible, turn "View Cables" ON
There's 2 UX's in there, for those more into menus and less into cables at the front

Re: Complex from Propellerhead
Cable view isn’t so much a mode - you even activate it temporarily when clicking on connections when not in Cable view. It’s not an SDK “mode” - the synth is mostly one giant display, that’s all. Cable view is a display. Knob view is a regular RE panel. So this is using panel swapping to change bet...

Re: Complex from Propellerhead
This has the advantage of having more "mod matrix entries" vs Thor. I thought of that. It could be solved by making a scrolling modulation matrix. Not a nice as being able to see everything at once. Which cable patching gives you. But at some number of cables, telling what's going on with a glance ...

Re: Complex from Propellerhead
The GUI on this is brilliant. I know how it's done, but holy crap I don't know how they managed it. :) Exactly ;) ...that's why it took a while and hasn't been done sooner :D Also as astounding as the GUI is. It's no more powerful than Thor's modulation matrix. Perhaps less powerful, as in Thor two...

Re: Front-end patch cables
Hmmm... I'm sure you all know by now that RE devs can draw whatever they want on one of the widgets called custom display, don't ya? There's already some shy/simplistic examples of that in the Shop . Now, if a RE dev decides to use a custom display with a less simplistic background (because it doesn...

Re: Messed up vst pictures in browser!
Any ideas? Do you see this issue with any of your songs? After loading them and/or only while building them? How many rack devices (REs, VSTs) do you need to have on your song to start seeing this? Could you please share what's your CPU, RAM size and GPU? I'm asking this because I'm realizing that ...

this sounds like something else now. Do you mind sending this information to our support, including information that this also happened in 10.2.0? it's far from well documented as we haven't received more than a small handful of reports and we've had troubles reproducing. The short answer is that i...
