Re: Reasontalk users spend 3:1 on REs vs Upgrades

Dare i say I imagine some of the Prop's salaries must have noticed a sizeable increase, that ten fold increase of money had to go somewhere. Bank rolling being able to go on tour with their bands, making it worth their while after so many years of squeaking by. Etc. If people loyally paid you for e...

No one could ever say Live looks good, it looks like an old grey visual basic app :o
This only one of its themes.

It's visually organized so you can find what you need during a set, and so you can do what you need while producing. Either way, the focus is on the music, not the graphics.

Re: WHY are you thinking of changing DAW? (Assuming you are of course)

These are pretty great reasons. I've run into a lot of toxicity in this community too... Especially on the Facebook groups (which I promptly left). I really wonder why that is. I love Reason. With the option to use it as a VST, I've looked into Reaper and others. I probably won't switch until I hav...

Show it in operation but with narration about general usage and detailed examples, please. Because I still don't have a fuckin' clue what this is about  Then do a Q&A afterwards.. Thank you @diminished. This sounds like the wisest approach. I'll probably just begin with a demonstration of the ...

Auto-Modulation & Workflow Enhancements: Need Input

Looks like this is a better place to ask this question. I'll update the thread to be more informative once it gets started. Now that my project is finished, I need input regarding how to present it in videos on the subject. The project can be used in many ways, but it primarily allows for: Automated...

Re: Advanced MIDI Thread - (DataBridge Release)

Docs still need some love, but that will take a bit of time for me to get to. Right now I think that videos will speak louder than text. Some small good news: IAC Driver can be used as a super fast "in the box" loopback port. Meaning you don't have to go through all the big long "plug in a physical ...

Re: Do you miss Allihoopa? Alternatives?

My experience with Alihoopa was meh. I always found it difficult to find music that I could actually collaborate or work with. That might have been me just not understanding the platform or that I primarily work on pop/rock stuff but it didn't seem very intuitive from my perspective. And it could h...

Re: Humble Pie

I say that you should give it more time because once you learn how to do things, you'll put so much more value into the use of your time in the long run. It's very quick in the immediate future to sit down and make something, but if you invest in a bit of upfront education in something new, the resu...

Re: Be honest: What were you 100% sure would be in V11 but didn't make the cut?

This is a weird question. It's weird because I don't honestly believe that any meaningful change will happen because so little of it does. Worse than that, I have no reason to believe anyone working on this program has the training required to write the changes people want or need. It's almost like ...

Re: WHY are you thinking of changing DAW? (Assuming you are of course)

I’m wondering why there’s so much talk just now of switching DAW. No judgement either way. I’m just interested as to why. What I mean is there we are (I’m assuming of course) happily plodding along with Reason 10 then suddenly when Reason 11 comes there’s quite a lot (not sure exactly how many) of ...

Re: WHY are you thinking of changing DAW? (Assuming you are of course)

For me, the reasons for moving on are basic. Less toxic culture Better return on investment Standardized best practices More results It fits my way of working better Nothing fancy. If I had to get specific beyond that, I simply don't have infinite time to waste on something that isn't working for me...

Re: Crazy idea- crowdsource development of some parts of the code so developers can try adding features

Opening up your codebase to third party contractors is basically going open source. Open source software goes by another name: "free". Although donation ware also exists. I have faith that the new leadership is going to do what needs to be done regarding new features. Part of the slow pace of advanc...

just because they make their stuff accessible in other platforms, it doesn't mean that they won't keep updating reason. it just means they grew another branch on their company tree. :) Right. What I was saying is that they're potentially freeing up the people who could otherwise be working on Reaso...

Re: Requesting more information from Mattias

What is most likely occurring is a restructuring of the team behind what we have known as Reason up until now. Take a look at the brand changes to get a better idea of what this means down the road. First, they changed to a more "professional" name to boost credibility. It's more generic, but it fit...

Q1: Will it be Reason 11 Suite --> Reason 12 Suite for 129? AFAIK, N.I. just releases upgrades from on version to the next for X amount, provided you stay at the same level. You only pay more if you jump up from standard to ultimate, for example. Can confirm regarding NI bundles. It's cheapest to g...

It is brand suicide for a company to knowingly sell the idea that there is no official communi...

Re: Speculation about new dude

I have Cubase Pro 10 and the feature set is pretty nuts. But ultimately nothing I do in it compares to the joy/simplicity of chucking a player above a Subtractor, putting on a little delay and reverb and just...creating something. That is a subjective view based on personal preference. The objectiv...

Re: Advanced MIDI Thread - (DataBridge Release)

I have a lot more of the setup documentation written for the system, complete with images to help reduce the confusion level. It's taking a lot more time to write because there's so much ground to cover once I walk through it from a novice perspective. I have the unusual luxury (or curse) of having ...
