Re: Lyra-8

Thanks! Just a heads-up though - that track is far from what you can expect to get straight out of the Lyra-8, I was using it as a sound source there but there's a fair bit of additional composition/processing going on in there. That said, you CAN get really wonderful sounds directly out of it, and...

Re: Lyra-8

It's the end of the world as we know it, and I just ordered a Lyra-8... Welcome to the club :) I had a play around with a Lyra-8 back in February during the "before-times" - I ended up recording 90 minutes worth of stuff from it, which I then hacked up and used as a basis for sampling. Over the nex...

Lyra-8

It's the end of the world as we know it, and I just ordered a Lyra-8... Now I just need my brother to change his plans from getting a Moog Matriarch to getting a Pulsar-23 instead so we can team up and be the ultimate post apocalyptic esoteric dance duo. I can't really afford it, but just look at th...

Re: Idea; ReTracker! Or maybe TrackRe?

Aaaah, trackers... My first "DAW" was Fasttracker II. Great fun. I sort of used it as a wavetable synth, setting the loop-points of the samples so close it created single cycle waveshapes that was delightfully out of tune. Microtuning I guess they call it today. I mostly did live jams straight to ca...

Re: Reason 11 to 11 suite upgrade

I wonder if this Suite upgrade is a single transaction, or if it means a higher upgrade price to go from, say, Suite 11 to Suite 12.. Suite up once and you're a Suite forever? I would most probably have upgraded to Reason 11 by now if it wasn't for the Standard vs Suite issue: I can not afford to go...

Re: Holiday Gift From Arturia

Instalation went smooth, but slow. I'm not that impressed by the reverb though, so I'm not sure I'll be using it much. I'd rather go for the PSP 2445 or Soundtoys Little Plate over this one, or even Waves Abbey Road Plates....

I went for the upgrade now (fom V collection 6), proud of myself and the impulse control I showed when VC7 was first launched. It was my plan to pick it up at this price all along, so mission accomplished! So that's black friday done for me this time around. It's time to get deep on the Synthi...

Re: If you are passing on R11, what would/will you buy for $129/$249 instead ?

I just ordered myself an Elektron Model: Samples - at approx $450. Deciding to pass on R11 justified it for me financially. The Model: Samples will pair nicely with my Monologue, and it is portable enough to come with me to work, where I often do nothing but pass time anyway (I'm a nightwatch for a ...

Re: Arturia - 3 Delays You'll Actually Use (Leak)

Arturia is offering me all their 12 effects (preamps, filters, compressors and delays) for 149€.... I'm suuuuper tempted, since I have none of them. I guess this is because I own the Arturia V Collection 6.

It's not exactly a cassette tape plugin, but I love Audiothing's 'Reels' plugin. It's way more lofi than most other reel-to-reel plugs and does tape emulation, tape noise, motor noise, delay and the tape stop effect.

Re: Soundtoys Summer Sale

I find the software iLok thing to be of little or no hassle. It reminds me of the Propellerheads one, but I have had more issues with that than with iLok. I have the Soundtoys bundle, and I love it. I snatched Little Plate for free at first and found myself eligeble for a super nice discount on the ...

I bought this only a few days ago and was also a bit surprised by the lack of mention of it here on reasontalk. It's the second synth I've bought this year, the first being Complex-1 at the recent sale. I was really intrigued by the sound of Aparillo and after watching a 10 part tutorial on youtube ...

Re: Ozone 8 "crashing" in Reason 10

Do you use reference songs by any chance? I have no idea what causes this so my first instinct would be to look at the file system (ref song on a slow HD, or in a wrong format, etc). I've never used reference songs, so that can't be it. I've used Ozone today without it crashing, so I guess I'll nev...

Re: Ozone 8 "crashing" in Reason 10

No problems here... It only crashes the first time you use it during the day? No, it might crash multiple times during a day, but only at the start of exporting audio and with the same fix every time - Save, close and reopen. Well, it's not a biggie, since the fix is so easy, but still, it is annoy...

Ozone 8 "crashing" in Reason 10

Anyone else having trouble with Ozone 8 being disabled when exporting song to 16 bit wav from Reason 10? Reason does not crash and continues the exporting process but Ozone sits there with the yellow warning triangle. If I save the project, close Reason and then open the project again, Ozone works j...

Re: Complex-1 low adoption rate? I just bought it, did you?

I decided to bite, after trialing for a week. At that deal of the week-price Complex-1 was simply irresistible to me. I'm really pleased with the workflow and performance of a this kind of modular powerhorse in Reason. I wish they upgrade the interface of Viking-2 so it matches that of complex-1, wh...

Re: Complex-1 low adoption rate? I just bought it, did you?

I tried it today for the first time and I am tempted because it evidently is a great synth. Only problem is I already have a ton of synths that cover this niche, and more.... Buchla Easel V, Softube Modular, Xils Lab LE, Reaktor Blocks, Moog Modular V, Arp 2600 V.... I even have a Volca Modular. But...

Monophonic Quantization

Often when I quantize a midi clip, notes get stacked "polyphonically", when I absolutely do not want that to happen. I'm surprised by my own list, but I don't think I could live without RE-2A C670 Neutron BZR-1 PSQ-1684 I probably should not have included those compressors, because of all the VSTs out there. The smart thing would probably be to go for 5 sequencers. Well, I love these Res, because I use them all th...

I promise myself I will not buy any VSTs or Rack Extensions in 2019, with the only exceptions being:
1. Any new Softube Modular modules.
2. Any new REs from Noise Engineering.

I will allow myself to upgrade Reason to any new version that might be released in 2019.

I will save a ton of money!
