Re: Will reason stop scanning for VSTs for every single program startup?
Jbridge has a difference compared to the built in bridger I notice... How it handles plugins is different... What is the difference you noticed? My question would have been 'what built-in bridger?'... ;) However how about "one of its legs is both the same" as being one of the better answers we're e...

Re: Reason's kludgy code
Another master software developer able to cast the first stone. I'll tell ya, nothing here presently makes me as nauseous as the amount of expert pwogwammaz that infest this board lately! Reason is a product much like a fridge. You either dig it or you don't, who on earth ponders on how the moulded ...

Re: Band in a Box 2019
BIAB has been around donkey's years. I remember as far back as the early nineties seeing a copy of version 4 on a couple of 3.5" floppies in a music store. Despite it's ability to spew forth limitless amounts of cheezy muzak and its VB6 look it is a very intelligent and incredibly useful program for...

Re: Really hanging for this Peformance Update
Whilst I'm not 'hanging', I'm looking forward to VST performance being properly addressed in an update, certainly. Fortunately I've always had a fully functioning mixing environment and Reason has been a creative and productive adjunct to that. So I'd be very happy to be able to use Reason for that ...

Re: Guys what is the best cpu for reason?
I wonder why nobody's talking about Xeon... Because most Xeons - especially the older chips - have notoriously low single-thread performance. Having said that IMO any of the current top end 8th or 9th generation Socket 1151 chips (i5 and up :D) will run Reason well enough for most right-minded folk...

Re: Guys what is the best cpu for reason?
I wonder why nobody's talking about Xeon... Yes, for a significant jump in budget something x299 based would certainly provide for much more grunt than something Socket 115x based. So basically it's important to choose what platform, you are going to base a build on, be it X299, the more consumer l...

What would be a more reasonable price to sell at? KVR's Marketplace can be an indicator of what the going price is, and is a good place to sell from my own previous experience. YMMV of course but it's worth a look if you haven't already. http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=43&topicdays=0&...

Re: Guys what is the best cpu for reason?
Spend some time at cpubenchmark.net and compare Passmark scores. Single thread/core is quite telling, usually. That is the trouble, folk spend too much time looking at figures, clock for clock I don't think you are far off with the 86xx over the 87xxx. Don't forget the numbers you see per core are ...

Re: Guys what is the best cpu for reason?
I'm on a budget, so what would you recommend - a top-end i5 with 16GB RAM or a mid-range i7 with 8GB of RAM? Only one of these two combos can fit in my budget Your budget will increase if you take the time to continue to save. So, save and get a higher-end i7. Also, you can always add RAM later. Do...

Re: I have 3 versions of Reason installed, how to disable 2 of them?
Reason on Windows at least will use the last used Reason version to Rewire to. So for example if you wanted R10 to open when you next use Rewire then just open and close it standalone beforehand.

Re: Reason Songs Disappeared
I know on Windows that anything that's in the Reason folder will get deleted during an uninstall of Reason. So basically if you save any songs there they will get wiped out during an uninstall and subsequent re-install. Users tend to save songs to a folder outside Reason's folder structure in order ...

Don't go overboard. Avoid trying to prove anything, it ain't a race or a punishment, take a fun stroll on the way to feeling more well.
I'm lucky enought to live in an evironment that makes me want to get out amongst it. The best gym in the world.

Yes.
He did some cool stuff with Autotheory when it came out. Nice chap I thought from my dealings with him.
His email and PM contact info is listed in his profile here still. Might be worth a try if anyone did want to contact him.

Re: Goodbye Hydlide?
But where does this kind of attitude come from: i.e. People were fine using Reason back in the days but not anymore, even when it does a lot more and betterly NOW????? Exactly. Sadly that's part of it as well. There was no comparison until VST's were bolted on only one version ago, so partly it's p...

Re: Goodbye Hydlide?
Even 'Reason Torrent' is flatlining . Hardly surprising that, given that pirated versions of Reason stopped at v5. Some old news. The biggest decline has been in Desktop based DAW software across the board and a trend toward mobile 'collaboration' type setups, i.e. Allihoopa, Bandlab et. al. ...

Re: Do McDSP rack extensions (EQ / compressors) really work as they advertise?
'A subtle warm tone change' could be said of any EQ or audio device tone control used sparingly, it doesn't infer saturation or added harmonics. I don't use the McDSP EQ's as I prefer, or rather am more used to using Neve style EQ's for any console style EQing (swift, broad strokes) aside from the S...
