Pure unadulterated brilliance. I’d maybe express a slight preference for the first one but, man, it’s close.
(I, too, had an A500 and considered those who understood trackers to be geniuses. I stuck with Music-X, myself).

Re: Looking for an Re which makes compression visible
I may be misunderstanding what you are looking for, but the RE you linked to is a frequency spectrum analyzer and won’t show you directly what’s happening with compression. Rather, if you use the compressors already built into Reason - either the MClass compressor or the channel compressor - you’ll ...

Re: Peak Meter VS Selig Gain Question
It would be great if someone else can confirm this, but here’s my understanding... The only meter that’s relevant in terms of final export, and what’s hitting you audio interface, is the Big Meter in the rack. The master fader sits *between* the master inserts and the Interface, so it is quite possi...

I think there’s an “explode notes” option in the F8 toolbox. That’s probably quicker.

Re: Aftertouch question
Since you’re asking about this... My son recently created a cover version of Ghost’s Miasma, which in the original has a great sax solo at the end. He tried recreating it using a sax sound on an old X5DR Korg module, and used copious amounts of aftertouch, pitch and expression automation to try and ...

Re: (Synthpop) Starter Wife by Pacific Deep
Believe it or not, I never used a tracker with my Amiga. I was using Bar and Pipes as a straight sequencer to control my hardware synths. In hindsight I wish I had gotten into the tracker scene. Some amazing music came out of that. Actually, I never used a tracker, either. I couldn’t wrap my head a...

Re: Upgrading
I’m speculating, because I have neither Cubase nor v11, but I thought I saw a video where devices like Dr OctoRex had a little blue indicator on the side of the rack that you could drag into the sequencer to trigger the slices via midi. Did I imagine that?

If my math (and understanding) is correct, a 65 hz tone would have a wavelength of about 5m (16ft). Does your room have a dimension of that size?

Re: how can i recreate this bass sound in this song at 1:08
With respect, Samsone, you have posted several times now asking for “off-the-shelf” preset versions of certain genres of sounds. It is almost as if you have a preconceived idea that the only possible solution to obtaining a sound is to find a ready-made recreation of it by someone else. The truth is...

Re: Please inform me best VST's for Action music
Cool. In that case I would definitely concur with Hurricane on Omnisphere for a wide range of sounds, but particularly atmospheric type. I also think it would be a mistake to ignore Europa, which you already have. Maybe there are some refills available if you don’t like the factory sounds. Likely so...

Re: Please inform me best VST's for Action music
One other thought, given that “hip hop, electronic or orchestral” covers a vast array of sounds... Possibly your need is more aligned to the production style rather than the actual VSTs/sounds themselves?
I am genuinely trying to help, just not sure where to begin based on what you said so far.

No offense intended, but it sounds like you are looking for a magic bullet. And when you say you assume the stock sounds are lower quality, that suggests to me that maybe you haven’t taken the time to look yet? Sorry if I presume too much, but it might be more helpful if you could give examples of s...

Re: Few annoying things in Reason 11 so far
If it helps, consider that the mixer mute/solo (and audio/mix device mute/solo in the rack) are dealing with audio signals exclusively, while the sequencer window also deals with midi data. Further consider that multiple midi lanes can feed to one instrument (and one set of audio outputs) or, in the...

Re: Frustrated over a simple question/problem
I think both the above responses are correct, but it depends on exactly what you’re trying to do and with what source material, which isn’t clear. If you have a simple loop that need to be shifted up 2 semitones (from a D#m chord to Fm, say), then either drop your loop into an audio track and transp...

I think that list at the top of the menu is a “frequently used” list - intended to be an automatically generated shortcut. If you use Malstrom more often, it might start to appear?
Or I might be misremembering this!

Re: Configure outside of the rack
I was thinking recently about a feature where you can create a chain of instruments and effects in the browser. For example if you want a Combinator with a Line Mixer, some reverb, delay, Europa, then you just tick a box next to the device, (including the amount you want) and then transfer to the r...

Re: reFX Vanguard, what happend to it?
Yep - I think Vanguard might have been the first “real” VSTi that I actually spent money on. I must have been using Cubase (SX?) at the time, driving a Yamaha CS1x. I was blown away by the fact that a PC was making those sounds *in my own home*. Sadly discontinued for a long time as was mentioned. T...

Hey Trint, Cool track! To partially answer your question, my son attempted a cover of In The End (what else are you going to do during a pandemic?), using Reason 10. Specifically he used Radical Piano, SubTractor, StringWerk and Ryan Greene Alt Drums along with his guitars. He made an accompanying v...
