Re: Parsec 2 is in the shop!
UK£ seems to have fallen off a cliff, so I think I'll pass for now. Never been very inspired by Parsec anyway - it doesn't seem to fit my style of music.

Re: *Updated* POLL: What's the Main Thing Keeping You From Working in Reason 100%
Sometimes I think "I wonder what this would sound like in Omnisphere". So I have to export the midi file into Cubase so I can play it with a VST. This is why Reason will never be top DAWg, much as i love mixing in it.

Refill searches - what am I doing wrong?
I load an old song and it can't find the samples from a refill because i must have moved them. So I point it at exactly where the refill is in the browser and then it proceeds to scan my whole computer when it right there in front of it. Is it just me?

When was the last time you heard a synth (or anything else) produce sounds you'd never heard before?
I think you have to go back a few decades. in my case, possibly a Korg Prophecy in a music shop in the late 90s. Since then, it just seemed like increasingly sophisticated rehashes of the 80s - whether it's glassy FM or ubiquitous analogue. Are there any instruments producing new sounds? Or is is no...

Re: Blamsoft and eXode presents: eXpanse - Hyperwave Synthesizer
It's clearly a great synth, but my criteria for buying nowadays is one simple question - can it do anything my existing arsenal of synths cannot? As I have Predator, Antidote, JPS Harmonic, Parsec and Thor, not to mention the Arturia V collection and the standard synths with Cubase 8 as well, I thin...

PC can't find ignition key
Props support on this is clear as mud. It says to open a Google Chrome file in wordpad and then remove something called 'phrem'. I open and get pages and pages of gobbledygook. Search says no phrem. Any ideas? Tried Firefox, which asks how I'd like to open phrem. Props say choose 'authoriser', but w...

Indeed, if you buy a rig and find you have duplicate REs, you should at least be able to gift them to another Reason user.

Re: Will you upgrade to Reason 9?
Just bought an 8.3 upgrade for £85, so it's already better value that going from 7 to 8. how did you manage to do that FOREX deal? i make it as a £100 upgrade for upstanding British citizens. Google Shopping is your friend ;) Found the product, shipped physically it's £90.99 so you are only saving ...

Re: if Reason 9 only changed one thing...
I'm taking it as read that there'll never be a VST allowed, but a Rewire master function or something that would allow me to control standalone Arturia synths easier. I know you can do a loopback, but I just end up committing the part to audio to save the faffing around.

Re: Three new Rigs in the Shop ( Expanded Versions)
After I bought the M&M rig, I got a loyalty offer to buy another for half price. Hate to say it, but there was nothing that justified even that outlay. The Synth rig isn't up to much, minus Predator and Antidote (which I have). The Backline doesn't do much for me either. To be honest, I don't know w...

Re: Three new Rigs in the Shop ( Expanded Versions)
I have the mastering rig V1 and all I really want from the new additions is FET. I already have Polar. I just wish they could be more flexible with this rigs. Maybe an option to swap out one or two you're indifferent to and bring in something you've been coveting. But I suppose there are all sorts o...

Re: Basslines and Melodies with AutoTheory
The problem I have with Auto Theory is that you actually have to know theory to understand it. I can't tell mixolydian from myxomatosis so don't even know if it's the right scale to start with. I usually end up prodding away randomly.

Re: What Features Reason has and others DAWs do not have?
I use Cubase too. When I load in a VST and start some real-time knob-twiddling, I'm always a little taken aback to realise that it hasn't recorded what I'm doing. Reason instruments are completely integrated into the recording environment. This has always been the massive advantage.

Meh ... by the time the bank has charged me for the currency conversion it's no cheaper than buying a retail upgrade. Been nearly a year since R8 anyway. You know what that means.

Where are patches stored for REs?
Is it possible to have all patches in the same place as the factory ones?
